Why the thumbs down on this guy's comment? I disagreed until I googled the average weight of a car being 4100 lbs. Small cars average is 2500 lbs. No, I'm not lifting the entire car but I would want an extra ton of insurance. Better safe than smashed
Lots of small cars are low profile. By the time you get one of them lifted high enough to fit on a 3 ton Stand, the jack ends up lifting up the whole half of one side of the car.

No locking cam? That tiny little pin looks sketchy to me.
Edit: I just couldn't tell from the pictures, but those have a little button activated locking cam and the pin just prevents the cam from disengaging. The Husky version[homedepot.com] has better pics.

Yeah there's no point in buying less than 3 tons except for some special cases in my opinion.

Yep and this is an english language website. America and Australia def have heavier vehiclese than the world average. Not sure about Britain. Also, the 3ton stands can be found for the same price so there is no point. The only reason I could think of to get 2ton stands is if you have a low profile sports car and you already have multiple sets of jack stands and you want a low profile stand only to support the car while swapping wheels. The only other reasons to get 2 tons stands is if you're using them for non-automotive purposes like supporting furniture during installations or something.

Removed my old comment, I thought the deal was for 3 ton jackstands.
This 6 ton or big red, TCS or another brand that I could with when it goes on sale?
Edit: got one and will see if it's wobbly like the reviews say, the base is wider and a bit taller than other brands so great for the additional height.

No, it's a pair.
Then it's a great deal. I've seen products before in SD and Amazon where the photograph is of a set, but the price is just for one item
