Why would anyone pay that much for a 52" fan?

Once you have one - you'll never be buy a shitty fan again. Especially the even more expensive models with temperature sensors that automatically turn them on

It's a DC motor. Smart home compatible. Super stylish. Actual warranty.

According to CCC, this is the cheapest price ever (sold by Amazon only), as the previous price was $439.69 on Nov 06, 2016.

I bought this exact same one for a bit more, several years ago at my previous residence and didn't take it with me when I moved. I have been waiting all this time for the price to become somewhat more palatable, even though it is still overpriced. Thanks OP!

Too expensive.
Maybe if they made it look like plane propeller, with wood materials etc might be worth the price. You don't need smart fan, you can get smart controller/switch as alternative.

Do these actually move air? The only brand I trust at this point in my life is Hunter. Everything else is barely noticeable even at high speeds.
I had this exact model on a 2 or 3' Downrod on my 14' vaulted ceiling before I moved and I was very happy with the air movement.

Its not. I have one that dips into room even more and am over 6' and it is super nice. Even walking under it is no biggie. You can probably shorten downrod as well. This thing is as low profile as it gets, doubt you will find another that feels as streamlined.

Maybe return it if she still thinks so once installed, if you have a light fixture already there you can replace?
