There's one feature with BAFs that you will probably not find anywhere, it's the "whoosh" feature. It basically creates airflow that mimics a natural breeze. It's great for sleep!

I have 5 BAF fans, 2 ES6, and 3 Haiku L. They're amazing fans! What's even more amazing is their support.

In my old house I purchased 2 WAC Mocha fans that had Breeze mode - same as Whoosh it appears. That feature was awesome, but the integration was such a PITA and you had to pay to add them to the app.

I really wish the white with wood-colored blades was on sale. Although I think I've determined that a 52" fan is going to be a little too big in the 8'x16' sunroom we're building; the blades will be a little too close to the walls as well as the vaulted ceiling unless I get a really down rod which I don't really want to do.

Pretty expensive for a WiFi fan.

It's a DC motor. Smart home compatible. Super stylish. Actual warranty.
My company purchases these for all the out door patios in our retail stores and use them in our warehouses. The ones in the warehouse are so ridiculously big and all I can say is that it is a premium Product.

We run BAF in warehouse. The original BA size looks like barely moves but underneath it's freezing. Ceiling is 35' high. Great brand of fan.

Just installed some more. Nice quiet fans and look great, there's really nothing like them, but the MSRP is ridiculous, we got them for 20% off (both 52" and 44") and it was still a lot. When Haiku was its own company before being acquired by BAF in ~2016 (?) these were $450 and steadily the price ratcheted up since.

Here's my problems with them:
1. No standard wall remote

It includes a nice bulky IR remote, because it is a DC fan, not an old AC fan with a pull string, and a wall mount for said remote. I would like to have at least the option for a powered, or even battery, remote that fits into a standard wall switch (ie. Lutron fan remotes). These use to include them, but no longer do. So now I have large remotes in their mounts glued onto blank switch panels, just doesn't look great. They have a $50 option on their store but they only work with the $1,200+ Haiku models. Even $130 fans Hunter fans have this.

2. No Homekit support
They have a tweet from ~2019 claiming HK is "almost here," you can find posted on reddit. You can use HomeBridge (via a raspberry pi) but I've had issues with the plugin (ie. hiding the light or reverse switch). At the very minimum they need to release a hub to show their fans to HomeKit. The joke is the Wifi module is OEM for Hunter fans, which mostly offer HomeKit. The app has no family support so only one person can use it, unless you want to juggle logins. App works fine but for a $750 MSRP fan I except at least the support $200 fans have.

Also, Alexa integration is awesome. Alexa, turn on the living room fan for 15 minutes….turn the fan faster…turn off the fan light in 5 minutes etc. Rarely have to touch the remote.

Anyone installing a ceiling fan should consider the longest downrod you can safely install for your room height. More gap between the ceiling and the fan blades, more airflow at the same speed. It's almost logarithmic and not linear.
I have to say that out of all the smart devices I have, this fan has been the most problem-free. It just works. That is, it responds to commands without issue.... unlike other devices that sometimes work or that stop working and then you have to figure out what the hell happened because it was working yesterday.

Anyway, I would definitely buy this fan again if it was this price and I was in a new home... so hopefully when I move later, I'll be able to get another one of them at or near this price.

Am I being too old fashioned that I'm concerned about the LED Light and what happens if/when it burns out?

I bought two 'shitty' smart CARRO fans last week (from SmaFan.com) and love them for $145 each App control, remote, dc motor 10 speed. With tax the BAF's would be $1000 and not sure how long I will live in current home and darn sure I'm not taking them with me.
…and regarding fan speed/CFM, when did you last run on full speed for longer than a minute or so?

Thanks for the insight on carro fans. I never heard of the company but the fans look really nice and are comparatively super cheap

Why would anyone pay that much for a 52" fan?

I bought an 84 from home depot for 387...😅

That is a concern of mine as well, but I don't really use the light on mine so I'm not TOO concerned... though I have wondered about it. Light "bulbs" should be user replaceable without costing an arm and a leg.
