The 3 ton is more expensive at 150 but weighs 78 lbs. This one weighs 105. Big difference and you will feel it as well 😀

Do people generally put a different pad on the saddle on a jack like this? Maybe something with a slot for pinch welds?

Thanks for talking me into cancelling my order lol. Decided I'll wait til I really need a jack, hopefully the aluminum 3 ton one goes on some type of sale by black Friday. It's $199 right now but even at that price I'm probably willing to spend the money on it just because it weighs only 58lbs.

I have the Pittsburgh low profile and it's plenty of jack. You wanna be a little more fancy and don't mind spending few more bucks then go for it.

This is a totally different Jack than the Pittsburgh 3 ton, they may share the same piston set up but the actual metal jack frame is different and seems to be stronger with the .5 ton higher rating. Though I jack my Ram 1500 up with the Pittsburg all the time and it's never struggled. I've left it it jacked up for multiple days without any movement..can't attest to this husky though. I'd get the hf one when they're onSale for 100 Again over this since it's proven and HF warranty is easy

These jacks for a long time were sub $100 at Costco - until the pandemic. During the pandemic they were all $250. I expect the price to eventually come down to 100-120 range every day.

I switched from a heavier jack like this one to arcan (which is aluminium) only due to weight.

Which is better? This one or the one from harbor?

If you're only looking to do light work like oil changes, I would recommend race ramps for $300. Race ramps takes up a little more space but are safer, more durable, and convenient. The ramps don't cost too much more if you need to buy both the jack and stands.

I'd go with the Husky because it lifts more, it weighs more and it has 1 Year Warranty.

Harbor Freight only puts a 90 day warranty on a $160 jack. What a joke.
