I have this and it works great. Used it for a 4500 mile road trip. It opens long ways but that is good for using in a minivan right behind the drive/passenger seat. Only thing I'm sad about is I paid 250 for it lol.

Not sure what the price difference is between a wheeled and non-wheel, but this seems pretty cheap compared to what I see on Amazon. I'd just buy a cheap dolly from Harbor Freight and use some bungee cords for temporary securement if I need to move it.

Curious, why are these so much cheaper than a name brand Dometic or even something like this: https://a.co/d/2b7tL8w

Thanks.

Don't know about the Whynter you posted but a lot of them have LG compressors which they try to collect a premium on. I don't know if it's necessarily better though lg mini splits are very good. Refrigerators sometimes leave things to be desired.

I wish it had wheels. Normally we carry our own food in a wheeled cooler and stay in a motel/hotel. Moving this thing without wheels will be a hassle. Need to think.

Wait until the Massimo ones go on sale again at Costco or Tractor Supply. I have a 62L wheeled one.

It's getting so hard to sort through these. Look at how many links for alternatives were in this thread. You have so many brands and so many sizes. Wheels and no wheels. Battery and no battery. And they are getting cheap.

I like the look of that unit, and the fact that it has a light. How sturdy is the handle on the lid?
Is the included cutting board usable, or a gimmick? Did you end up getting the extended warranty?
The handle is kind of chinsy to be honest but it's adequate I suppose. I mainly wanted the wheels and the fact that this one doesn't have a permanent divider so you can open the whole thing up.

I didn't even realize that it was a cutting board. Lol. I just thought it was a removable divider. It's typical cutting board type plastic. Sits in a depression on the lid.

Well shoot, I just bought the 48 quart for (what I thought was a deal at) $170 a month ago.

As far as this brand goes I'm impressed so far. Its way quieter than I expected. It also has configurable cut-off voltage so if you're running it from Lead-acid or a Lithium battery bank you can choose one of the 3 profiles that will protect your battery chemistry (or vehicle) from over-discharge.

Putting ice packs in a regular cooler gives you that same ability
That's what we're doing now and has been the standard since the 1920s. Having the ability to keep items cool for days while camping wasn't a guarantee with ice packs. With this unit, I plug it into my EV and it never needs any additional ice packs. Never runs out of power as I can recharge my car if needed.

I disagree. I have one with wheels and the tradeoff is insulation. The metal axle gets super cold on mine which means the insulation must be pretty thin. I would much rather use a small luggage dolly when needed.
The one I got with wheels has the shaft going through the compressor area so no insulation is affected.

Waiting on another dual zone deal. Missed out on the Whynter one a while back.
How much was last deal? This 52q dual zone is $310 after clipping the coupon. Decent deal or no? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRD18WDB

Dual zone is a bad thing imho. They don't subtract the divider from the stated capacity and that divider is thick. It's amazing how little can fit inside of this thing.

This one costs more but even with the smaller stated capacity you will fit a lot more inside of it due to no divider.

Anyone know longevity of these devices? Car camping is fun and all, but for a few trips a year not sure I'd get enough use otherwise. What about using it on a a regular basis or will it not be able to handle daily use?
Not sure about these, but I have an ARB unit running non stop in the back of my truck since 2015. In Southern California, with temps inside the camper reaching 125 in the summer
On my BT data logger thermometer
