Remember, Wyze won't allow you to store individual events without subscription. You can put memory card and have it but it's little pain to navigate the timeline and find what you want. I have 6 of these installed at home . I would prefer Eufy over this for convenience of view events. Eufy has better detection as well.

I purchased one of these from their website a few weeks ago, when they went on sale for $79. Installation was easy as a regular floodlight, then adding the camera (V3) in the app, which is easy, and it recognizes the floodlight as an accessory to that camera.

The camera is no different than their regular V3 if you are familiar with those. It has a nice wide field of view. The HD isn't clear enough to read a license plate, but plenty of detail for whatever else you need. Look at review pictures on Amazon if you want to see the clarity. I have this setup on a front corner of my house. The only problem I have is that headlights coming down the street at night trigger the motion sensing. I've got the street zoned out of the detection area, so I'm just talking about the headlight wash going across the yard.

For the floodlight itself, you can have it activate via the camera motion sensing, or it's own PIR (radar type) sensing. Due to headlights, I have mine set to PIR motion only, which works out to about 20ish feet. Deer, cats and an opossum have activated the flood PIR motion sensing. You can dim the lights 0-100%. I'd say mine have a 1-2 sec delay between sensing motion and turning on. PIR sensor detects motion 270°. I can't completely verify that because I have a downspout blocking a little of it.

I have four Wyze cams and a Reolink. I think they all have quirks you have to learn. Wyze are good cameras for slightly above newbie level and great bang for your buck. They aren't perfect and do have little annoyances. Btw, the Pro video quality is only slightly better. I wish they could produce some 5mp cameras for a good price.

I have both the Wyze and Eufy cams for years now, and I agree with what other people already said. I also want to add that I have issues with Wyze where the camera just suddenly goes offline randomly and never reconnects until you manually power cycle the camera. It happens like once every few months or so. It's annoying if you're not paying attention to your app and don't realize that it's been offline this whole time and not recording anything nor sending alerts. It's even more annoying if you're not home when it happens and have no way of power cycling it remotely. I type this as one of my floodlight cams randomly went offline just two days ago and it's already on the newest firmware. Someone suggested that you set up a rule in the app to have the cam restart every day. I set a rule up to restart the cams once a week. We'll see how it goes.

Eufy never had this issue as it knows to restart itself and reconnect. However, I have another issue with Eufy in that their outdoor cams sometimes miss events (their indoor cams don't have this issue) and also that the Eufy camera (both indoor and outdoor ones) corrupts the sd card sometimes when it gets too full and you have to re-format it to get it working again (meaning that you lose all the footage on it).

1080p on the Wyze cam is also pretty low as Eufy now has 2k and even 4k versions of their cams. But I will say that the Wyze cam has better low light quality than Eufy, though that doesn't really matter since this is a flood light.

Same, camera keeps disconnecting (require power cycling), upload failing for no obvious reason (screenshot only, no video), unreliable PIR sensor. Wyze has abandoned the floodlight long ago

I have a bunch of wyze v2, v3 and pan cams and was having the same problems. I would buy wyze plugs when they were on sale so I could restart the cameras if they went down and I wasn't home. A few months ago I setup the rule to restart the cameras once a week and that has cured most of the lockup/offline issues.

I have close to 85 cams of all types, doorbell, etc and also based on experiences read on Wyze threads the issue is almost always people's router. One of the causes of random disconnects and not reconnecting happens when the router has reached it's limit of devices or simply can't handle it. Signal strength also comes into play.

Ive prob had to power cycle a camera less than 5 times in 5 years

Loosing wifi connection might indicate that its not receiving wifi signal. Oddly when I restart my Asus router the wifi signal takes a good 10-15 mins before connection every time BUT on my eero router it connects instantly (this means its some thing to do with the routers in my case).

Corrupt sd cards may indicate its a fake sd card which is rampant at Amazon. I got a cheap pny sd card and my fire tv 2 ate through two of them on separate devices. Also there are endurance sd crads are more appropriate.

I couldn't agree with you more. My eero had instant connection to Wyze v3 after I power cycle router but not with Asus ax92u it connects automatically after 10-15 mins so there is something security protocol related that Ive read somewhere. But oddly I think my Eufy connected instantly.

Oh, I also forgot to add that these flood lights are nice in that it comes with an extra USB port on the flood cam for you to attach another cam to it (or another USB device). The only issue is that the USB port is really tight, so it will only fit certain USB cables, such as the ones that come with the Wyze cams. I mistakenly thought that the USB port was broken, but it turns out that it's just really really deep. So even though you might think your USB cable is plugged in, it might not actually be fully plugged in.

That's good to know that setting up the restart-cam-once-a-week rule fixes these issues. There's no point for me to buy the smart plugs, because these are hard-wired floodlight cams (i.e. I need to hit a light switch to turn them off and on again, and there's no power outlet involved).

It's not losing wifi connection that's causing the issue, because if I unplug my router and re-plug it back in, all the previously-online cams will come back online. The issue is that the Wyze cam itself freezes once every few months like a computer crash.

As for the corrupt sd card, it's not a counterfeit issue, because I buy the sd cards directly from Samsung and they even RMA them when I send the corrupted cards back to them. I've had a eufy cam break a Samsung endurance pro 128gb sd card before as well after a year or two of use. I never get corrupted sd card issues from my Wyze cams. There's something weird about the Eufy cams that corrupts the sd card after a few months. It's been happening to all my Eufy cams and tends to happen when they're full. Reformatting the SD card whenever the card gets full.

That reminds me that one other difference between Wyze and Eufy is that Wyze cams support large sd cards like 256gb while the Eufy cams only support up to 128gb. But also as others said, browsing through Wyze's app to find old footage in the SD card is clumsy and slow. Sometimes it even glitches so that the video doesn't have sound nor play at all. The only thing consistently working is their cloud events. I just stick to their free cloud uploads via their "pay-whatever-you-want" Cam Plus Lite subscription plan. It works well.

For anyone curious, this is MUCH brighter than the Ring floodlight, but the Ring has a much wider view and has better recordings in my opinion
