Bought a Bosch Full Stainless Interior Tub ultraquiet Dishwasher in 2011. Still works and looks great. I would definitely go Bosch for my next dishwasher.
Not a bad deal. A better deal, with caveats, is this one at $968 at Home Depot[homedepot.com]. It's almost the exact same dishwasher, except uses a recessed handle. Downsides: no install/haulaway, no extra Costo warranty. Installing a dishwasher is pretty easy though.
I just purchased this earlier in the year and love it, but fyi if you have an older home it may require a receptacle upgrade (mine did), and I believe the Costco installation doesn't cover that but I could be wrong. Might want to verify with them first.
I went through a local company and they had to essentially install a new electrical outlet in my basement and run the wire down to it because my previous dishwasher was an older model and I guess it was hard wired in differently. I'm not much of a handyman so I was glad they were there to do it for me.

This is a good deal if it works out for you, but for me, Costco failed.
I ordered this dishwasher on August 1st, there was a two week delay for installation. Ok, they come August 14th, the dishwasher they bring is all dented when it comes off the truck. I have to reject it. Then, after pestering them on the phone repeatedly, I'm able to get my second delivery date moved up to August 25th. It was originally going to be the 30th, because I had been stuck at the back of the line after my first dishwasher was rejected. They come on the 25th, and that dishwasher is dented. Then, while the delivery guys are still here, Costco tells me they have no more in stock. So I either have to accept the damaged dishwasher or do a return. They can't give me any info on when it will be back in stock. So I rejected it, cancelling my order and getting a refund.
Then I went to Best Buy and ordered the same dishwasher. It's scheduled for tomorrow. They're charging more, but have no two week delays in delivery, unlike Costco. Now I'm just hoping it's not also damaged.
I'm not sure if it's a COVID thing, but something is really wrong when so many new dishwashers arrive damaged. I previously got a GE profile just over a year ago (it recently broke) and had to have four deliveries because the first one was the wrong model, and the next two were also dented. That means I've had six dishwasher deliveries in the last year and a half, and only one was an undented correct model. It can't make economic sense to break so many dishwashers in transit.
If this upcoming Best Buy delivery brings yet another dented unit, I may try to re-order it with Costco again. Thanks for the post.
we got this from the previous Lowes deal @ $800 which was a great price. very happy with the dishwasher. installation was no big deal since they give you a plug (No need to hard wire like most units)

Hardwiring is against code. It's mandatory to be plugged in, which is what most other users are speaking of when referring to electrical work.
It's converting a previously hardwired setup into one with an electrical outlet that can be unplugged.
I picked up an 800 series in 2019 for about $800 when my Lowes store closed. Nothing really to complain about and it still works great. The kids don't like the touch controls but the third rack is nice.

I don't see how a hardwired connection can satisfy rule #1. You are indeed correct that many hardwired ones are still being sold.
