Tier A according to cultists, with the notes [5] Non-functioning multi-rail OCP essentially making it a single-rail PSU.

Also that it has a ballbearing fan that might not be silent at even low speeds.

well crap.....I just bought this last week from Amazon after the MSI 850 wasn't enough to power my new computer. Probably not worth the effort to swap out.

The real price (not 200) last week was 175.

"Manufacturer's warranty can be requested from customer service. Click here to make a request to customer service. " So I'm not sure how to interpret this. Some products require registration to claim warranty and if they're not registered the manufacturer provides a substantially reduced warranty.

In some cases its illegal for a mfg to require registration to get extended warranty.

According to Tom's hardware, it's a noisy option. Why choose this over Thermaltake or Corsair? price is similar, even with the discount.

I own one of these and can confirm, it is indeed slightly noisier than I expected. Turning on eco-mode for the fan is a must since it won't run at lower loads. My PC is on my desk and somewhat close to me so take that with a grain of salt.

That said it's otherwise very solid and surprisingly compact for a 1000w PSU. The cables are stiffer than usual but otherwise I've had no issues.

Read quite a few reviews and it looks like many people are having issues with it arriving DOA. I was about to purchase one for a new build but wouldn't be able to test it for a few months so I'm hesitant.

Anandtech review states FDB fan. Also that footnote is not for this psu, it refers to the non pcie5 version.

Most of the reviews say this is quiet. Guess we'll see, i bought one to replace a suspected failing PSU.

MSI's website says it's a fluid dynamic bearing:

I have one... I can't hear it at all. My PC is on my desk next to my monitor.
