I think he is referring to use the chrome extension to activate cashback. I used the link for $60 then use the chrome extension to activate the cash back. Seem to let me do it this way.

Definitely not seeing this as how it's being posted here. The swagsbuck link gets you a coupon code for instant savings which will NOT trigger the AmEx offer. How are you able to get both?

I think the amex offer is like a statement credit for amex. I don't see it tho with my amex plat card unfortunately.

It looks like separate from the coupon, you earn 50 SB per $1 spent on new memberships. So if you decline the 50% coupon, you would still earn 5,500 SB (50 x 110) which is worth $55, plus the $40 back from AMEX or final cost of $15.
