The reason you NEED this heaset if you are a gamer, though, isnt those things. The best thing far and away is the chat/game wheel on the headset. Once you set your game up so voice chat is on one channel and game audio is on another channel, you can easily adjust for either super loud teammates, so you can get your game sound back, or super quiet teammates so you can hear their comms when the game gets real loud. If you are a FPS gamer, and you dont have that feature on your headset, BUY THIS THING RIGHT NOW it will change your life.

The JBL Quantum 600 headset is compatible via 2.4GHz wireless connection on PC, PS, Mac and VR. Compatible via 3.5mm audio jack with PC< Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch , Mobile, Mac and VR. The JBL QuantumSURROUND is only available on PC. Check the connectivity guide for compatibility.
I already have the jbl live 660nc headphones (around the ears) that are highly rated with users and critics. Rtings gave those headphones an impressive 7.7 neutral sound. If I don't use the mic feature, I am not sure what the extra benefits of the jbl quantum 600. I will assume the usb dongle could help working with a playstation 3? Soundguys gave the sound quality a 9.3 score. The reviews on Amazon are impressive 4.3 out of 5 (1,763 reviews) and I don't think there are any other better gaming headphones for $54.99. Interesting. I never bought a dedicated gaming headphone. Not interested in the mic though. I don't have ps+ and I don't do online gaming.
Oddly I go to bluetooth setting with my ps3 and registered the jbl live 660nc headphones but I still don't get any sound.
* It may not work as the ps3 is pretty finicky. I may need wireless gold headset from Sony or use some adapter.

I do have a Prozor toslink to 3.5 jack adapter that I could use but I still need a bluetooth adapter. I used the prozor adapter to plug into a Sony Bluetooth speaker. I think it is too much hassle to set up the headphones for the ps3. These jbl headphones and my jbl live 660nc headphones are fine with the ps4.
