Good price (before shipping) but the 20% bump in shipping loses a lot of the value.

Most retailers will be selling bundles of this with a case & film for similar price for October/November, probably netting a better overall value.

With that said: this line of the Mini cameras are incredibly basic. I would highly suggest spending $20-30 more to get a Mini70 or even a Mini40. You can also find the Lomo Instant Automat on eBay for as low as $10 at times. Each of these will give better and more consistent results, which is important when the film on these will be your ongoing costs.

Lots of fun to shoot with though!

I got one of these Fuji cameras last fall and the image quality is poor. Returned it. Recently bought the Kodak Mini 3 Retro 4PASS Portable printer on Amazon. You use your smartphone as the camera, send the images to the printer and it's very good print quality. Fun device and daughter #1 uses it to get pics of the kids, beach fun, etc. and puts the prints in a photo binder. Bought two more for daughter #2 upcoming wedding for fun shots with friends. .

EDIT: forgot to add that the Kodak is $119. but comes with 68 prints vs the Fuji at 10 prints.

You've caught my interest but dang that's a bit of a steep entry price point

The big difference though: the Instax cameras use actual instant film. It takes a "1 of a kind" photo that only exists as that single print. It also has a lot of the oddities that come with Film versus digital. The other cameras like the 4pass are basically a portable printer. Quality may be better in some areas (as it's using a digital image) but it will take MUCH longer to print and loses the fun factor of watching a one-of-a-kind photo develop in front of your eyes. With that said.. some people don't care about that at all, which is fine! But it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Fujifilm does actually make several instax printers (and a camera like the Instax Mini Evo), which all "print" an image onto instant film, so you get the best of both worlds with an actual film print, but also getting to choose a photo you want to print from your phone or camera.

After going over lots of reviews I got this for my daughter's birthday not long ago and paid $85. I also got an old Polaroid Sun 660. While I liked the photos with the old Polaroid better, I decided on the Fuji for her mainly due to the cost of the film. She seems to love it so for a young person who just wants a fun way to take instant photos I think this is a good choice.

Print time is fast and less than a minute. Go watch a video. The print quality of the Polaroid style used by the Fuji is lower quality and not worth $1.00 a print. It's a low quality camera

Kodak Mini 3 starts at 3:42 "photo color quality is amazing".

Agreed. It's nice to have film sometimes. It's also a super robust device compared to a printer. Almost no moving parts. Just the shutter and motor to eject the film.
