People like you made Costco stop their crazy good warranties. It's called abuse.

Got this a couple months back when it was on sale previously. Insanely good vacuum. The laser light head will be good for satisfying any OCD triggers

I would rather pay more money and get something like this from costco, an item that is known to randomly fail and be able to get my money back and buy another one to replace it.

I wouldn't get this, the upcoming submarine attachment won't work with this model
Thought the "submarine" was a troll but it's a real thing https://community.dyson.com/commu...-head-1662 . Kind of ridiculous it's software-locked to the V15s when it's probably just a motor attachment like any other, but this is Dyson after all...

Wondering whether there is really any reason to upgrade from a functioning V8 absolute. I'm assuming there's not that much difference right?

It's as low of a deal as v15 has been posted for from my research. The Dyson already comes with a 2 yr warranty and I don't think Costco warranty adds anything additional.
It was $450 at BBB about 6 months ago.

Costco discontinued their extended warranty. That being said, items can be refunded years later.
does anyone know how long Costco would accept a return on something like this? I cant find anything more than the 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Got this a month ago when it was $440 at BB. Amazing vacuum. Capacity is a little low, and if you've got a filthy house you're going to empty it quite a few times when you first go through and clean.

I vacuum every day or two, and our house is ~2700 sq.ft. - mostly wood, with a little carpet. I end up filling 1/2 - 2/3 of the canister (mostly because our carpets are still shedding) and using 40-60% of the battery.

The Fluffy Optic head is a revolution. For hardwood/tile floors, it's absolutely incredible how well it works to reveal dust. Stuff you can't see but you can totally feel if you walk barefoot on the floors is revealed, so you know where the dirt is and when the floors are clean.

The "Digital Motorbar" head (regular beater-bar head) is great. It picks up a ridiculous amount of dirt, but be careful about the height setting - set it too low and it will pull fibers out of your carpets/rugs. Not so much the suction, but the beater bar.

It looks like the Costco version doesn't come with the "Light Pipe Crevice Tool", which is a shame since that's super neat for cleaning behind things.

All-in-all, I'm super happy with this vacuum. Don't know if I'd pay $600 when it was going for $450 just a month ago, but I'm very happy with it in the $450-500 price range, so maybe the extra $100 for a Costco warranty is worth it!

I have a crappy vacuum and really interested in this one. I did miss out on the BB deal months back - will the BB or similar price drop happen again soon or that was more of an anomaly?

I sold my V10 and have this now. A perfect upgrade. Powerful motor. But a bit heavy

When it breaks in 5 years you get your $560 back though

Or at 25 months
I used v10 for 4 years, had to buy a battery in between but worked great and now that's it's a few generations behind bought the v15. It's an awesome vacuum and reliable from my experience. I'll still keep the v10 as well for smaller jobs.

How did you get this for $440? That Indeed would be an awesome price.

My V8 battery (5-6 years old) just died. The reviews on the cheap batteries were not very confidence inspiring making me feel like it would be $50 wasted. Rather than get another v8 for $300, I decided to spend the extra $260 on this. After a day, I'm glad I did.

I love the new auto power feature. The new roller heads really do clean hair out themselves, which was really gross and annoying with the V8. The bare floor roller is more nimble and light weight, the dust bin holds a lot more and is easier to empty. The battery lasts much longer than my old one ever did and it is way better at cleaning carpet than the old one too. Finally, and these are just nice to have, it is satisfying to use because of the green laser light (making dirt super visible) and the particle counter.

For Costco I guess yes. But when bed bath beyond is still alive, I got one v15 for $419 or something after a discount + promo applies. There should be some posts on Slickdeals.

My costco is still selling v10 models. Dysons model numbers have gone haywire.

I like buying vacuums but my refurb LG A9 I got for $200 with all accessories is still going strong...so hard to tell if it's worth upgrading just cause this is new and fancy
