I guess it went up on pricing, no longer $299 or am I missing a coupon?

Bought this when it came out for like $500. Have it paired with a 12700k and its been great.

Kind of wild 2 years later this is still this expensive, but definitely a good higher end board for $300.

Not sure. I still see it for $299. There are many motherboards on that page. Did your selection get changed by chance? You should be on "ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero" version. This ends in about 5.5 hours from now.

Apparently from what I've researched "The only significant difference if you decide to buy the Z790 HERO is that it supports three PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, as opposed to only two on the Z690 HERO, with an additional PCIe 3.0 NVMe slot."
for a savings of $200 I went for the z690, just make sure you exchange if you get one with the defect, but those may be out of circulation.

It probably is, look at the eBay closes for your existing products. People are still paying a lot more than I think they should be for a 9900 k

Nice board and tempting but my 9900k should be good enough for a couple more years or so.

I feel like I would get a bigger increase in performance then.

Definitely tempting, but I guess I'll hang onto my z370 board for a bit longer. Waiting for these to be 200 flat and then maybe upgrade.

Amazon has this for the same price if you wish to skip on Newegg and some of their shenanigans with returns.

14 gen intel CPU releases soon, if you are building new, might want to consider holding off.
