!!!WARNING!!!
DO NOT BUY THESE CONTROLLERS WITHOUT A WARRANTY!
All retailers listed offer a warranty of some sort with both Amazon and Walmart offering 3 year options. The warranties (according to various reviews) covers stick drift and bumper wear. The Microsoft and Xbox online stores do NOT offer additional warranties.
1. Make sure you register your product with MS first to get the 1 year manufacturer warranty.
2. If outside the one year window, contact the insurance company to file a claim.
For $5-$8, the warranty offers a peace of mind that you won't be stuck with a $50 paper weight should things go bad.
Hope this helps!

Rubberized grip? Sounds like the stuff that gets all sticky after a couple of years.
If you nasty
I pulled the trigger when this was posted earlier. I've seen a lot of colors I wanted in the past but they all are pure white on the backside for whatever reason. This one makes me happy

Haven't had an issue with my anniversary controller with the grips, drift on the other hand is a different story and why I picked one of these up as well. Can't go back to a controller without them, they make a big difference IMO. But the processing speed of my order is less than desired. Ordered 2 days ago and it's still "Pending".

i don't need another controller but I like the purple theme. With that said...I had BestBuy price match Target. I now have a lunar shift and stellar lunar controller

They're talking about rubber reversion. Over time various rubbers will degrade. If you're constantly using it your hands are actually rubbing the gunk off, but if you let it sit for a few years the top layer of it will turn into a goop. If you have an old Logitech MX500 sitting in a box, you can see this in action.
Anyone know if Microsoft will have the stellar shift color available in their Design Labs (obviously at a higher premium price) anytime soon? I assume it'll eventually hit there and it's more of a question of when.

I would advise against Electric Volt. The light thumbsticks get gross quick.
