Instacart gift cards used to make sense when instacart was throwing around lot of coupons and free instacart+ for chase card holders.
Now that Instacart is not giving lot of coupon codes and increased its fees (minimum $5) and shipping fee for non members. It doesn't make sense to buy these cards anymore: still yet to burn $300🤦 ♂️
I would rather go with Walmart+ instead of instacart+
Thanks, OP. I find that if I purchase Instacart GCs at a 10-20% discount then pick up my groceries I'm at least breaking even, sometimes saving. Of course, each time I do this I save a good deal of time vs. doing the shopping myself and waiting in a long checkout line.
Thanks...why someone would TD a 10% off gift card for instacart is beyond my comprehension
It's a bit like Macy's sale where they have 20% off sale after they marked up the price by 50%. The overhead makes it a terrible deal unless you have mobility issues or getting groceries for someone that is disabled.

instacart is not marked up by 50%. Instacart has in-store pricing at many stores.
on top of t hat they only charge a service fee which is only 2.5% at warehouse stores and at other stores it seems to start at $2.49. Except they give you $2 off for selecting 3 hr window. With 10% off gift cards you come out ahead
Aldi pickup has roughly 10% markup BUT they give you 5% back for using pickup and no fees. It's cheaper to do aldi pickup than shopping yourself. Obviously 15-20% gift cards is better but this is good

It's marked up by 8% ~ 40% from what I've seen. I can in fact point out a few dozen items right now that's marked up by 40%. The point being, after the markup, fees, tips the 10% "discount" isn't really a discount.

It is a discount for delivered groceries. Key word being delivered. If you're looking for the cheapest groceries possible, then this deal is clearly not for you.
I used them for the first time the other day. Ordering an changing order worked fine. Then the app wouldn't load conversation with the driver. Then the driver claimed they called me an didn't. Then the driver left my food at the opposite end of the apt building outside when I'm waiting outside the door I said to go to. Then the app wouldn't load a help chat. Then I messaged them thru some non chat message thing. An they never messaged back. I cant take back my tip. They trap you into that by not allowing you to tip afterwards when you are supposed to tip. Seems like a standard American company these days. That was kinda nice in advanced nations like Mexico I could just go outside an there is a food cart (or 20) with actual fresh food made right there. For way cheaper than the mc donalds down the road

again no it's not. It depends on the store. If the store says "in-store prices" it is as close to in-store as possible. Sprout's is identical to in store and they even have store promos like buy one get one, etc.
Some stores are 95% the same as in-store minus some promotions which do not apply. Walgreens is a good one where the prices seem to match the store except in-store clearance and discount offers. Or sometimes the prices are not updated.
Sometimes items are cheaper than in store due to pricing mistakes. THis does happen too.
