It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

Wow, I was already looking at the X but I wasn't willing to spend $100k+ vs the Volvo EV90 coming out.

Now at $73k with the tax credit its an amazing deal. Usually the car deals posted on this site are complete BS, like you have to live in a specific zipcode and be related to the babysitter of the heir to Ford and wine and dine the local dealer to take off the markups.

This is a legitimate deal and will definitely buy in Jan (the tax incentive has an income cap this yr so need to wait for 2024....).

Wow, great price drop. The Plaid version of the X includes the 6 seating layout, which is a $6500 option on the LR, so if you're going for a 6 seater, the Plaid version is only 3k more now... nice
Buttt not eligible for fed credit??

You laugh but he is correct. The model S Plaid is one of the fastest production cars made so far. Can you name another sedan under $100K that do 0-60 in 2 seconds?
Closest ICE car I can even think is 2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Price: $187,400
0- 60: 2.6 seconds

I have Model 3 Performance and can tell you for sure the instant power is hard to beat. Its a huge achievement of automotive engineering for sure.

I guess slickdeals is a kind of game. But practically speaking it doesn't make any sense to think about saving $20 when you have $millions.

If you're making, i don't know, $200k, then your time is worth $100/hr, and it would be hard to save that much clicking on stuff everyday.
It's a hobby and people aren't making $100/hr 24/7.

7 seater is over 80k and I don't think that qualifies for $7500 tax credit
According to IRS:
In addition, the vehicle's manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) can't exceed:
$80,000 for vans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks
$55,000 for other vehicles
MSRP is the retail price of the automobile suggested by the manufacturer, including manufacturer installed options, accessories and trim but excluding destination fees. It isn't necessarily the price you pay.

Wished there was some way to get 7 seater or different interior color.

The only way I would ever be in the market for one of these would be if $140,000 was nothing to me. Tesla has always been a disposable early adopter gimmick car.
Jay Leno is probably the only Plaid early adopter that would say $140k is nothing to them. Around the time it came out, I had a Hellcat. It was around the peak of that auto inflation time, and I sold it for $20k over market value, and to a dealer might I add as I didn't want to deal with the private party hassle. Not exaggerating, it was an insane time. So I decided to splurge and put that towards the Plaid.

The car is far from disposable though. Last time I checked a few months ago, according to Optiwatt (which has API access to my Tesla metrics) I saved over 6 grand charging a car compared to fueling here in California. Yes it was an expensive purchase, but it's reaping it's benefits slowly.

The income cap does exist in 2024 too btw. It's just that you get the credit upfront

Bitcoin is the highest performing asset of all time. If you believe otherwise, you haven't been paying attention long.

From under pennies per BTC to tens of thousands at present, hundreds of thousands within a decade and hundreds of millions in another generation or two. It's exponential.

Do yourself a favor and learn because it's a once in a generation opportunity that everyone has access to right now.
Then why are you telling people about it? You should be out buying all of these "cheap" bitcoins yourself.

I thought the income caps will always apply even in 2024? I know they are planning to apply the discount at purchase, but I imagine it will be reported to the IRS?

Genuinely interested on how it will work. I imagine if it's reported to the IRS and you don't qualify, will they just charge you the $7500 discount on your taxes?

Very funny how you are being called a troll when you just stated facts and explicitly labeled you opinions. I personally can't see myself buying anything other than a tesla, but I won't let that cloud my judgement when someone corrects inaccuracies.
