"When we received the product, none of out three Greenworks 40V batteries fit the chainsaw. It is my understanding now that there are two different 40V GreenWorks platforms. You have to make sure you are getting the right one. "

It's possible they have the old version of the saw that has a shaped compartment for the battery. I have that one and I'm guessing there are larger batteries that won't fit. Thankfully the battery from the pole saw/hedge trimmer combo I just bought fits.
Most of their new tools have the battery hang off the end/bottom so as long as the actual mount doesn't change a larger/different shaped battery would fit fine.
Say what!
With the Greenworks (40V), after using it to cut down some limbs and branches, what I can say I like and don't like about it is,
- Lubrication system works very well.
- Bar has little to no play
- I never had it bog down while cutting limbs
- Bar and chain are easy to adjust
-There is little margin on adjusting the chain tension, and if you don't have it dialed in right, it won't take long for it to come off.
