Apollo 13 is automatic. I think I already paid twice for it (thanks VUDU). Consolation prize for Cry-Baby, written and directed by John Waters. I just wish Universal would throw us a meaty bone like Charlie Wilson's War or The Kingdom. How about a 4K release for Frost/Nixon or anything released by Focus Features? I swear I'm going to be long dead before I get my movie collection completely upgraded to 4K.

They'll be releasing 8k movies before all the HD movies are upgraded to 4k.

Yeah basically. But you get points per movie not per dollar. So say for instance there's an 11 film Alfred Hitchcock bundle on sale on iTunes for $20 and you buy it you'd get 500 points per movie for a total of 6,500 points. Or the 10 film Universal Monster bundle for $20 and you get 5,000 points. That's almost all I f my points came from.

Also some of their discs come with codes you can redeem for points. Sometimes 1000 points depending on how new the movie is.

But you don't get any points for redeeming a Digital Copy which I didn't know at first. Only the special reward codes or direct purchases from a digital retailer linked to your MA account. And the MA account needs to be linked to the Rewards account before the purchase.
You can submit a picture of your receipt for 500 points. I do it all the time. I get the points within a day or 2

Apollo 13
Academy Award® winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe team with Director Ridley Scott (Gladiator) for an epic story as powerful as it is true. Armed with ruthless, street-wise tactics and a strict sense of honor, crime boss Frank Lucas (Washington) rules Harlem's chaotic drug underworld. When outcast cop Richie Roberts (Crowe) sets out to bring down Lucas's multi-million dollar empire, it plunges both men into a legendary confrontation. American Gangster is "a brutal and brilliant film." (Pete Hammond, Maxim)

Charlie Wilson's War is $2 D2D and you can earn another 500 points lol
D2D only works for HDX quality and you ought to own the Blu-ray personally. I don't abuse the program like you might and besides, I'm only interested in 4K. There is a reason they don't offer D2D for 4K disc releases, and studios like Sony and WB have stopped releasing codes with their 4K discs all together to promote streaming services. If people didn't abuse the duck out of VUDU's D2D, things might be different. Paramount and Lionsgate don't participate in MA for similar reasons.

I own the blu-ray and wanted to pay $2 for it digitally for convenience. I got it so long ago it didn't come with a digital code. Don't assume things you don't know.

Even if Universal did offer Charlie Wilson's War as a reward, I'm not sure it would be 4K. It only seems to be available at Vudu and there's no HDR grading, which since you only want 4K, you should know is more important than the 4K resolution. Even Universal themselves only sell it as an HD code

Same thing with The Kingdom
https://www.gruv.com/product/the_...al_code_hd

So I guess you'll be waiting a while for a real 4K version of these movies.

Both Charlie Wilson's War and The Kingdom are for sale in 4K on VUDU. No, they don't currently have HDR but it will come eventually. I'm not much of a videophile anymore, which has allowed me to buy into streaming full bore. I just want the resolution to max my display.
My original point stands: a reward of Charlie Wilson's War or The Kingdom would be infinitely better than some of the garbage titles Universal regularly offers for redemption, like Balls of Fury.

I literally said they're for sale at Vudu in my comment you're replying to. However, again, Universal doesn't sell them in 4K themselves.

Your TV upscales it to 4K. 4K resolution without HDR isn't really much different from upscaled HD. The benefit of UHD isnt the resolution. It's the HDR grading.

You're just irritable and we're talking past each other. VUDU sells the two movies we're bickering about in 4K. Universal rewards redeem on VUDU. I don't care and most people aren't impressed by HD gimmicks or upscaling. What do you want to argue about now?

Idk but you started arguing with me because you had a problem with my comment that was trying to provide helpful information. You accused me of theft. You're the one with the attitude problem, and it's people like you who make us not want to try to help people. You could've ignored my initial attempt to help you but instead you wanted to start something with me.

HD upscaling isn't a "gimmick." Its an essential function of your TV. If you don't have a garbage TV, it should do a good job that rivals native 4K resolution. Again, it's HDR that makes a difference and your 2 movies don't have HDR, even in Vudu.

Upscaling is nowhere near as good as native quality, particularly on a 4K panel. We're talking a 4X difference in resolution between HD and UHD. You know this! Why are you acting like upscaled HDX is on par with 4K, with or without HDR. Nobody should adopt that perspective. Nobody!

It's most definitely does not LOOK 4x better on a heavily compressed Vudu stream. The difference is certainly not significant enough for you to spend days arguing about it with me. You need to stop reading the marketing materials and actually watch the content. Maybe instead of starting arguments with me, you should go watch your movies. Bye.

Your "meaty bone" of Charlie Wilson's War is now available as a reward and it's in HD, just as I said it would be, even though you were wrong and wanted to argue with me about it.
