This was Consumer Reports top rated handheld battery powered vac. They're pretty awesome - I bought one, new, from Costco (around $80?) and gave 2 away as gifts (one new and one refurb). So, I definitely think that CR was right. Just a note, though - if you buy one, note that the internal/reusable mini cone filter it uses does get *clogged.* I thought my Shark was bad after a few months and ended up calling the warranty team at Shark only to find out that I never cleaned the filter. Just an FYI in case you buy one and after a few months think it's not longer working. Here a quick 40 sec video [urldefense.com] that shows you how to change the filter.

That's an excellent point and a really good deal on a warranty. You do only get 90 days on a refurb warranty, but these sell new for over $100, so $7 for a 3 yr warranty is truly a good deal.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the warranty end up just paying you back the $45 if you have an issue, as opposed to swapping out with a new device? I'm not sure paying $7 for the option of getting back $45 is an amazing deal tbh

Honestly, I didn't even see where the option was to purchase the warranty. If it's like one of those Allstate warranties then yeah - all that you would get back is the purchase price. You'll have to ask FastZX6R.
