I have this. It works decently.

Heads up, there's no SD card slot. So if you don't pay for a subscription you at best get a 10 second clip.
There's no onboard storage to use the free playback feature like their other cameras.

A word of warning about Wyze to anyone interested.. They have agreements with LEOs all over the country to give warrantless access to anyone's video system. My rural county has had this agreement since 2019 and it's been abused on more than one occasion

No local storage makes this a non-starter for me. I appreciate the heads up and saving me the time digging through listing and potentially reviews.

I've got it also. Works fine for me.
I'm not paying a subscription but the alerts and short clips work well enough to let me know when someone is at the door and see who.
It is hardwired and meant to replace a traditional doorbell button.

So you are really limited to real time video unless you pay for Cam Plus?

Is that after adding it to Cam Plus Lite, or is that a basic feature of this product?

I don't think the cam plus lite works with doorbell cameras.

CamPlus Lite is what gives you the 10 seconds.
With majority of Wyze cameras you can then view the rest of the playback from the SD card, but that's not an option for the doorbell

EDIT: As pointed out my funkmasterscizz, technically the doorbell is not on CamPlus Lite but rather is on the pre CamPlus era of 14 day rolling 12 second clips (at least as of a year ago per this article https://forums.wyze.com/t/cam-plu...-22/217484)

You get the 10 second clip via CamPlus Lite or whatever. But I often find that inadequate unless it's just a quick package dropoff. Then you have 5 minutes of cool down/no video.
Unless you're watching live as you mentioned

Do you have any recommendations for a video doorbell with local storage that doesn't require a subscription?

I don't know if it's how my walkway is setup, or if it's the doorbell, but it'll fully miss people delivering packages from time to time. I'd say 9/10 times it detects, but there's those one offs that it doesn't.

My walkway is a narrow/hallway sort of one. Camera sees walls on either side and sidewalk to driveway.

Only other thing to note is it does come with small wire nuts to connect to power, however, I had to drill some holes to shove those wire nuts into. Maybe solder and heat shrink tubing would be better in order to place excess wire back into hole. But I'm no electrician and not sure if that would be up to code. Lower voltage, but would say to look into that if considering going without wire nuts.

this is a decent product for what you pay for, however, note that if it is in direct sunlight (on a hot summer day), it'll get too hot and "stop working". That is the biggest issue I have for mine... nothing you can do about it... I don't think they took that into consideration when they designed this... but yeah, everytime this happens, I have to just go to my breaker and reset it.

Other than that, it works good for the rest of the seasons.

This Energizer one ( $27.71 ) has an SD card (so no subscription), and you can find other promos if you're a new customer. (Got mine for $17.71 plus shipping.)

Also it works with primechime ( prcp2 ) plus 2, if you have primechime.
