Hmm I cannot understand what its saying in the instructions (if anyone has an idea) as I have a trad switch with 2 wires that I want to replace but cannot run a new wire directly to the transformer or anything that is suggested in the pictures:

Not sure what you mean by 'trad' switch. You will need to bridge the two of the connectors if you are trying to use your existing chime. I purchased a 10 Ohm Resistor, 5W 5% Tolerance.
