I bought this chainsaw, cut a branch of approximately 10" , after that chain keeps popping off, is this common?

The chain can get loose on these. If so, it needs to be tightened up. I have a similar model and there are two bolts that need to be loosened, then pull the blade outward until the chain is taut and tighten both bolts. You want the chain to separate from the bar slightly when pulled outward, but obviously not loose. Also, the adjustment bolts need to be tightened very well or it can keep coming loose.

See page 6 of the manual for chain tightening instructions for this model …

ok, thanks. I am all new to this. Does I need to put oil too? When I bought in store, Lowes guy said no need for few uses as the chain is already oiled.

Going through a full tank of bar oil in 1 or 2 minutes, the thing slings oil like you wouldn't believe. Chain also chatters horribly. I paid $70ish last year for it and wish I didn't for those reasons. Pros is light, comfortable, and enough power for most jobs, with no risk of blowing house breakers on a long cord
