Agree.

With the painting - it's better to do it in the store for less clean up

They have always given us the option to do them in-store or to take the kit home. My kids have been preferring to do them in-store, especially if they choose to paint them.

Our store advertises these workshops as 9 to Noon. I've never seen them still have kits available after 11 am.

Last weekends microscopes were gone by 10:30 am. If you can't get the kids up and ready on time the might be easier to get the kit to bring home. But to each their own.

Our Home Depot is always packed so there's no room to build. So we take home. Sometimes I just pick it up without my son. Also, if you paint there it's kind of a pain to carry around and not get paint in your wife's SUV. Smilie
FYI: HD you can just walk in, don't have to sign up and I've never had to show proof. Their's is usually first Saturday of the month. Lowe's you have to sign up, sometimes show email proof, and it cuts off 24 hours prior. (Even tho the workers just give out or keep extras at the end). Their's is the 3rd sat and never painting. All sticker stuff.

Doesn't look balanced enough to float. Curious if anyone has made this one before?

That would be a cool display in a kid's room. Kids need to learn more wood working skills and get off the Xbox & cell phones.

Our store has plates to put the stuff on and then you place the plate in a plastic bag and tie it at the top. Works great and keeps the car and hands clean.

Depends on the store and week. Ours changes from the front to the back. I just go in and ask the first worker where's the workshop
