Don't wast a penny on this! For less than $150 you can buy a bigger Thermoelectric Wine cooler & use it instead! I have over 450 cigars all packed in several cedar humidors & airtight PBA free containers. Fitting perfectly in a wine cooler. Keep Temp 65F & humidity 65%. 70% is too much especially for FL weather.

#1 This unit heats and cools unlike a wine cooler
#2 Newair is top of the line for entry level. You aren't getting a newair wine cooler anywhere close to $150.00. Newair uses all stainless steel where the Chinese competition used plastic.
#3 The shelving alone will cost you $100
#4 This unit doesn't use a compressor so it's whisper quiet.

Can you Frankenstein a wine cooler as a humidor? Yes, but why would you? For $250 on Walmart you can get a cheap electric needone humidor

Bummer! I just bought a 350 capacity KingChii humi on Amazon. I did a lot of research on these and would rather have bought this one. Few days too late for me. I wanted the heat and cool feature since the temperature in my house goes from one extreme to the other here in S.C.

What is used to regulate humidity? I don't see anything mentioned that takes care of that.

It has a open water tray (see the website pictures) for distilled water but I suggest throwing in Boveda packs and let them do their magic. From what I've read, the water boxes don't work good maintaining a constant RH.

You are correct, this will take 2 boveda 320s. Online reviews says that they last about 6 months if you don't open it all the time

Great deal OP! Placed an order for one. I had my Whytner crap out on me so this was perfect timing.

I have an older version of this unit the CC-100 and I like using 4 of the 65g here in AZ. I'd say they last 4-6 months with it being less in the summer and not opening it a ton.

Good Info here... fwiw with a damp paper towel you can "revive/recharge" boveda packs, done it many times.

Damp paper towel (use distilled H2O\) around the boveda in a ziplock wait a week or so. Done.

#1 This unit does not heat. I've owned one and there's no heat (nor do you need one for humidor temps unless you want mold to grow under with the RH cigars need). It's just marketing speak. It's a standard thermoelectric Peltier system.

#2 Newair is nowhere near top of the line. Newair is just standard rebranded imported white label stuff. The Prestige Imports and Raching units are top of the line.

#3 The shelving is borderline worthless because it's just Spanish cedar veneer over MDF boards. Literally $10 worth of SC in there since I've purchased it myself.

#4 As mentioned above, it's standard thermoelectric Peltier cooler (EXACTLY like most wine coolers these days.). Only actually fridges still require compressor units for temps below 50 degrees.

Get your facts straight. Lots of enthusiasts have converted them into wineadors but most have moved to standard Cooler chests unless you have unstable temps in your home.

Not on mine.

Even if the recent comments were all deleted, here's the Amazon listing you claimed didn't exist with reviews corroborating the worthless 'heating' function and the inaccurate temps and RH. I specially love the vent hole left from the factory you have to cover yourself so your stogies don't dry up. Real "top of the line" as you said before.

Curious how you control humidity in the airtight containers?

I use Oggi [a.co] airtight containers with a Boveda in them which lasts forever since it is a sealed container. Works pretty good for me plus they display the cigars nicely.
