The 4500 is like a 2600, a Zen+ part from April 2018. So it needs to be $50 max? Still very good for entry gaming/computer.

Yeah it needs to come down to $50 to make sense. The 5500/5600g has come down to $80 or us been consistently $90.

I'm looking to change cpu, mobo, and Ram (need 32gb, upgradable better) , GPU, on my 12 year old system that still looks like well built.

Looking to spend max $500.
Can someone suggest which route to go. I see amd is slightly better price so I don't mind going that route as this will be more like a backup system. I assume a good old psu I have should still be good in this case.

last winter they were that price, 110 for 5600G and 90 for 5500, for about 2 months. Then of and on for a while

I don't think the 5600g have been that price in at least 3 months though

I don't ever recall the 5600G for$90 though

Yeah. This is like a 5500 and is a APU with a build in GPU that has been disabled so just like the 5500 it shares all the limitations of the laptop APU but without actually having integrated video. This is a Renoir so it is Zen 2 not Zen 1+ but a 3600/3600x is still a better chip being the desktop version of the chip with larger caches etc.

Thank you so much. This cpu+mobo combo looks really good, and very budget friendly. My primary system is i7-12700, so this CPU/board looks good.

My 10+ yr old system that I want to upgrade is, i7 990x, asusTeK board, with radeon RX 570 card.
I was hoping to use the old case(looks solid, with wires, fans, psu) and just replace the CPU/mobo/GPU/RAM.
Will that be ok to do?
