A quick note on the quality of the 4K Blu-rays - these discs are damn-near reference quality. Outdoor scenes shine in Dolby Vision, and dark scenes are unmatched on an OLED. Highly recommended

I agree. Watched it on my Samsung S95C 77" and the image quality is next level. There is a sort of depth and texture to this show that I have not seen before.

I found this series to be somewhat overrated.
As much as I loved the games I agree with you. I was underwhelmed

I can't recall the last movie that Blu Ray gave a movie 5.0 for both PQ & AQ.

I don't always agree, you have to read between the lines.
This was a pretty good series, I may have to pick this up when it gets lower.

These suspenseful/haunting type movies can be very immersive with a good transfer.

My favorite scene in the entire show:

"Go take a shower, Bill!"
Powchikapowpow after.

Never played the game and I still found it a little underwhelming.

Shows $16.28 for the Blu-ray for me. Very cheap. Used is only slightly cheaper so no reason to buy used

4k is never a value for tv shows. they're not mastered at 4k so you're paying for nothing . sometimes HDR is a slight improvement but usually it's minimal and produces too dark results

Not sure what you mean by "mastered in 4k" but this series is a native 4k.

"HDR is a slight improvement" over what?

Geez, between accusing it of "taking the Disney route" and someone warning people to play the original game only, there are some real "Gamer" stereotypes in here. I loved the games, both of them, and the show. The second game is also very good, and I think the differences in the show from the games worked great for the format. I'd definitely recommend.

Man, the thumbs down lol...TLoU2 gets people beyond mad if it's not praised. The second one was kinda meh by comparison.

In for 1, thanks OP

If you played through the game before watching the show then it was quite underwhelming. The only thing that was really exceptional was the episode with Bill and Frank.
