From my own experience and from what I understand about the 12900k is the memory controller is not as strong. I've had trouble getting my 12900k to run XMP 6000Mhz stable on my DDR5 kit. Even though my memory and motherboard are both on each others QVL. It will fail memory tests after a few hours of running. You might get luckly and get a good 12900k and it works, but it's not guaranteed by any means.
Almost tempted to drive the 2.5 hours to Boston for this
(Mostly kidding though, nobody in their right mind drives in Boston)
they will never ship this. will NEVER happen. they make no money on this. the entire purpose of these bundles is to get people to physically into the store and buy other stuff while there. it's the only way they can compete with lazy options like amazon

because they are scum buckets. i shopped there from 2004 to 2019. spent tens of thousands. but after they got bought out by some chinese company they went to s**t. bogus restocking fees. shipping broken returns instead of new items then blaming the buyers for breaking them. denying returns for made up reasons. allows scammers to sell on their platform and not helping customers when something goes wrong with 3rd party sellers. i can go on all day

on two occasions i bought brand new motherboards and got someone's broken returns. one of them had nearly all the pins destroyed. looked like someone whacked the cpu socket with a hammer. and they tried to blame it on me and reject the return. that was back in 2019. i filed a chargeback and never shopped there again

Nice. I really like thed board, but wish it had the 13700K rather than the 12900K. Im upgading from 10700K on an Aorus Elite AC mobo that got rekt in a lightning storm.

I think it would be important to note that this is in store pickup only. I would have been in for this if shipping was an option. Maybe next time!
Shame no shipping as I don't live close to one.

I paid this for just a motherboard recently! When it's time to upgrade my current daily driver I'll be holding out for a deal like this. Cheers 🍻

This is true. I personally am running this CPU and noticed i could only run two sticks of ram otherwise it will crash constantly. Depending on what you are doing 32GB is plenty. Outside of that issue CPU runs great.

pretty sure almost any microcenter deal worth a S is 'in person only'. i.e. if you don't have one in your neck, its not even worth looking at the deal, it'll just make you pissed off Smilie

Im not sure. It seems that what is better is determined by use case and hardware needs. I just happen to like the Aorus boards for features and asthetics and outside of a single Asrock mobo years ago, Ive only used Aorus boards.

One thing I learned, though, is make sure that the mobo can handle your RAM needs. Check the manufacturers website for each board to find the QVL list and make sure your RAM is listed there by speed and number of sticks it will work with and whether XMP (if Intel) will work.

Otherwise, there's a lot more technical specs that are important that Ive not run into needing to know about.

Do any other sites ever replicate these combo deals?

F micro center for not doing any of these deals with online shipping.
Not as regularly. Amazon sometime will, Newegg more often, but F Newegg.

The only differences I could find are:

The Gigabyte has 4 M.2 gen 4 slots while the Asus has 3 gen 4 and 1 gen 3 slots.
The Asus has Wi-Fi 6E and the Gigabyte has Wi-Fi 6

The reviews on Newegg seem to be better for the Asus.
