8th gen Intel makes a phenomenal Plex box or home server! Mine has an 8tb ssd and is a torrent and Plex and backup server for the whole house!

So this finally worked for me to create a local account with a new Win 11 setup from scratch using a USB stick. Downloaded the Win 11 bootable copy from MS.

Disconnect LAN/wifi
Next use the steps from here to BypassNRO command

1. Start the Window 11 setup.
2. When you see the Let's connect you to a network screen with the grayed-out Next button, press Shift + F10. This launches a command prompt.
Now run the following command at the command prompt:
oobe\BypassNRO

3. After your system restarts, you need to select your region and keyboard layout once again. But this time, on the Let's connect you to a network screen, you will see a new I don't have internet option.

I hope it works out for you. I just got my replacement, exact same thing (even down to the same school district). I have been in touch with the school district but they aren't the most responsive even though they said they were working on it last week (I have no clue what it takes to fix on their end). how did you manage user settings if there was no OS?? when i did no internet setup it took me to defaultuser0 login screen. when i used dell OS recovery i blue screened. i literally turned off every possible security setting on the bios and reflashed it too.

gave up and installed linux lol

tried all of this including the stuff in the post above for windows 10.. sunk countless hours with no results lol. so i guess im unclear about windows.. as long as you have one copy of it somewhere (windows 11, 10, etc) you can make a bootable usb from it and put it on another computer for free? or can you just download windows 11 iso and install at no cost if you dont have it?

No offense but you do need some basic windows know how. Windows 10/11 is a free download from Microsoft website. You download the usb flashable software to a different computer, plug in a usb flash drive and create a bootable windows copy on that drive.

Now you use that flash drive to boot the Dell system and and install from there. All Dell systems with windows 10/11 have the license installed in the motherboard. You don't need to get another

Yea did not know i could grab windows 11 when i didnt already own a copy. I made windows 10 bootables on 3 different hds

I didn't try with windows 10, but this should work with 11. Give it a try and post any specific points of failure you are having, preferably with screenshots if you can.
