Here's a deal for OLD MEMBERS, not new members. If your BJ's membership has expired at least 2 months ago, try one of these links to renew for $20 instead of $55.
BJs.com/20Renewal [BJs.com]
BJs.com/RenewForLess [BJs.com]
BJs.com/Renewal20 [BJs.com]
BJs.com/RenewtoSave [BJs.com]
BJs.com/20Rejoin [BJs.com]
BJs.com/Rejoin20 [BJs.com]
Good Luck!
(They've been harassing me so much I decided to renew for the cheap gas and my mountain of toilet paper is down to 6 rolls.)
EDIT: The 4th link "RenewtoSave" mentioned a $20 reward on the postcard. It expires 9/15/23.

One more spot where BJs has had a surprising advantage for me: past 2-3 years, BJs travel very often had the cheapest car longer-term (monthly) rentals, often by a long shot. It has repaid the stock $55 membership cost for me many times over.
@Pitmaster
Same case. Did you find a way?
The same thing happened to me. Mine expired on 8/31/2023 and after renewing it states my membership expires on 8/31/2024... Not nearly as bad as yours, but annoying nonetheless.

Membership expiration and renewals: Your membership expiration date is the last day of the month and year shown on your register receipts and on your "My Account" page on BJs.com. Paid memberships renewed within two months after expiration will be extended 12 months from the expiration date.
So because your membership expired in less than two months, it just extended from the original expiration date.

My guess is that it's not a technical error.

You pay to renew for a year, and it happens to be 59 days after your membership expired, and you'd actually only get just 10 months of membership from the time of payment? Again, despite paying for 12? Wtf lol. Who on their team/board came up with that ridiculous idea to punish late renewers (but not too late! You'd be better off just waiting out a full 2+ months).

However, Costco and Sam's club have the same terms.
I guess it's their industry standard?
