This isn't going to help you not spend money, but maybe it will help you spend less....

If you already have batteries and a charger, you can get the bare tool for $71 + tax after doing the deal hack. You'll have to use this link where the batteries and charger are added separately, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../302652845

The reviews kinda suck for it's power. This is good for light use only.
for what it is....it does a good job....might be a little heavy being battery powered but as long as you don't do things commercial (installing seat covers or put together a ship or plane) it works!

Do they make a fuel version?
As far as I can tell, they don't make a fuel version of the M12 crown stapler. They do have an M18 FUEL narrow crown stapler, but that might be overkill. For reference: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../312290567

I guess if u staple hard woods and need the staple flush, then M18 is the way to go?

so just to confirm, you buy both with store pick up/ship to store ensuring they show individual, then when order arrives you just pick up the stapler and return the batteries on the spot? is this what is meant by the hack?

TIA

Looks like the option to add charger and battery is oos. I just placed an order adding the single 2.0 ah battery. Didn't look like two items on my receipt but will give it a try

Yes exactly. Some people have had luck with cancelling part of the order over the phone with customer service before you have to pick it up, but honestly that is just more of a hassle for me. I either ship to my house or pick up at the store, then return the pieces back I don't need and they credit my card back.

It is important to know that this only works when the bundled items show prices separately in the online cart. Then you can get money back on whichever part you don't want or need. If the bundled items show one price in the cart, you'd have to return the whole bundle or nothing.

Makes sense. For this the stapler shows like I can go pick up today. Then the batreriea ship separately to the store. Maybe after picking up the stapler I can cancel the batteries. They both showed up prices separately.

It will not rapid fire staples like an air powered one, and it does jam or error out on occasion. Have one and it worked great for attic insulation, but when doing upholstery work its better to get an air one.

Surprisingly, the Ryobi version is much better while being cheaper.

Only issue is the huge Ryobi batteries. I use the M12 over the Ryobi every time for this reason.

It never fails..I buy a tool and then they package it with batteries right after. I paid like 10 bucks less for just the tool. I'm waiting for the impact to get bundled so I can pull the trigger on that
depending on your definition of "right after" (has it been less than a month or two?) you may be able to get away with ordering another one on this deal and returning on your old receipt for the higher price. ymmv obviously but i was able to do this on a ryobi where i bought the tool-only brushless version like a month before ryobi days, then i purchased the bundle at the discounted price and returned the tool-only package on my previous receipt. had my shipping label on it and everything and they took it back instore no problem.

FYI, the all in one package deal qualifies for a military discount, whereas the individuals do not.
