is this the best laptop deal we can get form dell.com as of now. I need to make use of my amex $200 CB.
Performance and build quality wise, yes. Unlike most laptops at this price, this is almost fully metal construction, good selection of ports and full functional type-c port. Also, this has both ram slots upgradable, up to 64GB. Ryzen 7 5825U still is a very powerful and power efficient processor and in multithreded workload, beats all the 12th and 13th gen U and most P series processors under similar power consumption. Only drawback is the display which is good for indoor use and has just around 60% sRGB color gamut.

Thanks for the update. Some Lenovo's with 75% sRGB color gamut. Is the different noticeable.

Agree, and it has creature comforts like fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard that many laptops around $400 lack. Also, the specs here (SD) say 720p but Dell's website lists both 720p and 1080p cameras, without making clear which one this has. I think it's likely the camera is actually 1080p.

How well could this one handle light video editing?
I had a big chunk of Dell Rewards money with a portion expiring tomorrow so I had been trying to figure out what to spend it on without going too much out of pocket so I was looking at the laptops with the one from the original post and the one you linked as possibilities and the biggest issue I saw with that 16 inch one is that since the ram is integrated it made it sound like you are stuck at just the 8 Gigs and cannot upgrade to more ram.
I ended up grabbing this one for $330 as it just popped up today on sale.
When looking at some of the benchmarks it could do what I needed it to do and the gaming benchmark videos on Youtube showed the difference was only a few fps for these Radeon IGPUs so not sure if that is really worth another $170 difference between the two laptops plus I could spend $100 to add more ram and a bigger SSD if I really wanted to, so it would still be a lot less than that other one.
Most of the reviews also say in general that you are overpaying for a Dell laptop no matter which one you pick as you are able to get much better specs elsewhere for a similar cost but when you have Dell Rewards or a coupon you are kind of stuck dealing with it.

The 15-inch Inspiron you linked is a 3000 series laptop, it's a huge step down from the Inspiron 5425 in every way. The 5425 is well worth the $120 difference.
