if you happen to get this deal, a word of advice: Use the gift cards as soon as possible! They expire in 6 months of opening the account !! Also, it takes a month or so to get the actual gift cards, so window of opportunity is already low...

There are always ways to increase the price of a "lifetime" offer. AT&T especially is great at being dishonest to customers in order to sucker them in, as many people have noted.

ATT was so dishonest with Direct TV that I swore I'd never go back. Not only was it not drastically cheaper like the rep promised us face to face in the ATT store, it was more than I was paying for cable tv. When we called the CS rep she said they had no control over what their reps said and unless we had it in writing from ATT, it didn't apply. My wife had written down everything the rep said and we had gone over it with him so there was no confusion but none of that mattered. We should have gotten a lawyer and filed a class action lawsuit, but who has the time or money to do that, and that's what they're counting on. ATT is one of the most dishonest companies in America. No way I'd ever trust them.

Apparently you have zero clue what you're talking about. You may have had a bad experience in the past but me being an actual AT&T rep, I know the facts. There's zero install fee, free modem/router combo, no contract, and it's not promotional pricing. There's zero ability for a rep to tack on anything crazy on an internet bill.

I work for the company, Fiber doesn't have equipment fees unless you rent the wifi range extenders.
