AT&T still only offers 5 mbps service in my town. They are a complete joke for both wireless service (worse coverage than Verizon or T-Mobile) and home internet service (won't invest in smaller metro areas).

YMMV , Existing customer and was able to get 1 gig plan for 60$ per month + 100$ visa gift card. The AT&T agent on the phone mentioned since I have a wireless plan, I am eligible for this promotional plan. Good Luck.

I'm so grumpy about this. I received a $20 credit for life when I signed up, but they charge me a larger base price than any other customers. I've complained many times, but I cannot get my base price down to the advertised prices. I basically pay $80 a month after a $20 discount off a $100 base price.

Second day now trying to get a new fiber connection live with AT&T. Their tech support is mediocre. The people that answer the phones only know the basic technical support questions. Everything else requires a call back from someone that knows what they're doing. Day #2 trying to get IP passthrough working with a Meraki GX50. These are easily installed with every other ISP in the area, except AT&T. It's now to the point when I see AT&T as the ISP on a service order, I cry a little inside. Sadly, it's the only option in several areas around the city until the local fiber companies complete their rollouts.

When HBO was included it was a good deal. Now it doesn't look very attractive for $80 even with $300 discount in gift cards. They just installed fiber in our neighborhood but I don't know anyone who is using their service. Comcast in our area gives 1.2 GIG speed for same 80 dollars.

Do you have competitors in your area? Go through the headache of their retention department and tell them your switching to a local competitor. Works with Google Fiber too. Or just cancel your service, and sign back up using one of these promos.
