Would this be too powerful to staple insulation?

I've used mine for insulation never had any issues. Also my Milwaukee 3/8 crown stapler has a power adjustment on it as well. Very useful even as a DIY it comes in handy

100% Agreed. I used mine to insulate a basement and garage - complete game changer compered to manual or pneumatic. Do yourself a favor and buy it!

uh...not bad price on this. I have a 5 year old porter 18ga 20v staple gun and works great. Only reason I'd buy this is to get down to one battery line. I hardly use the porter one, maybe 1-2x a year

I've been heavily invested in dewalt 20v tools. But milwaukee has some tools that dewalt doesn't have or got bad reviews for. How are the m12 12v tools? And not just for this stapler, but m12 vs m18?

I own about a dozen different M12 tools and I love them, once you get into it you'll want them all, the M18 tools would be a nice step up but I would use them only about 5% of the time (as a home owner).

I actually have DeWalt 20v and Milwaukee 12v tools. I am content with 12v most of the time. Use dewalt 20v for circular saw, vacuum, heavy duty drilling...

The M12 lineup is fantastic - very broad with all sorts of specialty tools, and many sit at "top of class" among other 12V competitors.. but they're also generally more expensive too unless you can get deals on them.

There's really not much the tools in the M12 lineup can't do... but M18 is generally more appropriate for higher draw tools like angle grinder, string trimmer, blower, circular saws (handheld, table, miter saws), etc.

Thanks for the advice, I went ahead and purchased it. I've been wanting to get into the milwaukee lineup. Their cutting blade and drill bits are 1000% better than dewalt

I run 20v with Dewalt for the heavy duty stuff and M12 Milwaukee for the specialty little tools they have (installation driver, portable dremel thing, etc)
