An important trilogy in the history of epic fantasy. Also the first books in a series spanning many more sequels and prequals.

Sometimes it's knocked for being too derivative of Tolkien. The influence is obvious, but it stands on its own. I do think it's an easier read than LOTR, especially for younger readers.

The individual books typically run much more than this, and the trilogy has never been cheaper. I paid the same price in 2018, but it has not dropped this low since at least 2020.
Just finished the second but for $2.99 why not get all three instead of the last.

I've already bought these books (physical) years ago. But it's time for a re-read! Thanks for the deal.

Awesome Smilie I have this trilogy in audiobooks only. Looking forward to getting them in ebook and maybe time for a reread. The books were much better than the show, but the show was enjoyable as well.

I loved these when I was in middle school/high school 30 years ago. I wonder if they hold up?

One of my favorite authors.
Also a very good read that will unlock countless other books that tie into this trilogy.

Good question. I watched the live action TV series adaptation a few years ago and it didn't live up to my memories of reading the books from 30+ years ago, but maybe that was due to the adaptation and acting. LMAO

Yeah it's nice to hear some enjoyed the efforts of that show, but I had to stop watching as it was ruining my memory of the books which I very much enjoyed years ago. It's too bad one of the bigger networks with some money behind them can't pick up and do a real run on this series because I think it would do well.

Yeah I skipped it as I know any modern adaptation of anything will be teen-ified.

I wonder why a major studio hasn't tried to make a movie series out of these books, considering that these are almost classics now (like the Lord of The Rings) and would probably be an easy cash grab.

Good point. I remember it being on par with the Hercules/Xena TV series lol.

They should do Magic Kingdom for Sale (also by Terry Brooks). The protagonist is a lawyer and widower, so they pretty much have to be an adult.
