I saw in the Amazon reviews a mention about cracked PCBs on Gigabyte RTX 30xx and 40xx series GPUs. Is this something to be concerned about on this model?

Fair, but when the 7800xt is still $50 cheaper and 6800xt has been seen at stupid low prices this isn't really a deal

Also I highly doubt prices will rise come black Friday. Let's wait and see

And your comment is fair, also. But if one is going to buy a same-tier AMD card for less, they have to be willing to give up the raytracing and DLSS3 that the Nvidia cards have. Which is probaby why the AMD cards are selling for less in the first place.
And you're probably right - there'll be some GPU deals on BF, but I'd bet the number of cards offered will be depleted quickly on the higher-end 'deals'. Nothing like people camping out overnight at Bestbuy to grab an RTX 3080 several years ago, but still.

No supply shortage? Why do you think this is now a dead deal or (good luck) backorder only? Why do you think that prices for 4080 and 4090 boards have stabilized at high levels?
There's just as good a chance that it'll be more expensive come BF, given that Nvidia would rather use TSMC fabs to produce their highest-margin H100 super AI chips.
People who complain about prices need to understand a few things:
1. The marketplace of supply and demand determines pricing.
2. No one has some God-given right to buy a GPU at what they consider the 'right' or 'fair' price.
3. Nvidia is a publicly traded company that maximizes profit wherever it can to produce profits for its executives and shareholders (the two groups overlap significantly), and support their share price, incuding expectations of profit going forward.
4. Nvidia doesn't really care whether you can afford $1600 for the low-end RTX 4090. As long as someone else does.
5. If you want to have the money to buy a 4080 or 4090, buy some Nvidia stock.
Welcome to capitalism, comrade.

Hold the line. This needs to be at $500 or less.

They're referring to using a GPU support bracket in order to reduce sag/bending.
Ah, that makes sense. I do see in Amazon's description that Gigabyte includes an anti-sag bracket.

Microcenter will price match Amazon as long as it's in stock. Or buy from Amazon and return to microcenter
Do not do that second thing. Aside from being fraud, they know the SN of the card they sold you, and they will check it

At prices 18 months ago yes absolutely hold the line. But now? It's already reasonable enough, I'd rather get my card and use it for than wait 2 months to save 50 bucks.

Also, MicroCenter is a small-ish business that keeps others honest and they deserve to not be frauded at the gain of Amazon.

Yeah, and don't forget to buy some AMC or GameStop stock to go with....Oh, wait nvm, those pump-and-dumps have already crashed back to reality.

However, not a terrible deal for this card, but holding out for BF for hopefully a good deal on a 4080.

Stupid question here - So I have an old I7 7700K. If I pair this GPU with it, I know it will obviously bottleneck and I won't get the most out of the card...BUT...approximately, how much of it's power will I be able to unlock? Like 30%? 40%? 70%?

If you aren't in a rush to upgrade, I'm just suggesting to hold out. For anyone who needs a card now, this is a fine price.

I don't want to put words in your mouth, but are you trying to say that Gigabyte warranty support doesn't have a good track record?
I didn't say anything about warranties. However, from what I've seen and read online, these companies don't do RMA for this.

Where does $700 come from? It's always been a $600 card, and it even says $599 on Amazon (as regular price). And at $550... nah, not a great deal, especially for a Gigabyte.

I see Newegg now has Zotac RTX 4070 at $549.99 as well. Which is the better brand, Zotac or Gigabyte?
