Sweetwater has the ESP LTD Eclipse '87 NT in Turquoise (Dent 'n' Scratch) for $699. Shipping is free.

For these guitars Sweetwater notes the following:
Quote :
Note: This is a Dent 'n' Scratch instrument that could contain minor cosmetic flaws, but they will not affect playability.
From what I can gather, Sweetwater themselves doesn't know what in particular makes these guitars from ESP "dent 'n' scratch" as they're still sealed and have no gallery photos. They only know that these had very minor cosmetic flaws from handling; enough to still be sold like new with a full manufacturer's warranty. In that respect they're very similar to ESP's Player Grade [espguitars.com]. These will be in much better shape than a demo or floor model. The flaws are usually things like < 1" scratches, tiny dings in the finish, etc.

Besides that, Sweetwater support is pretty good about this stuff. Guitars purchased from them have Sweetwater's 2-year total coverage warranty and 55-point inspection before it reaches you. If something's more than dent 'n' scratch and they didn't catch it, they may partially refund you or help repair it if it's something functional.

This purchase also qualifies for 3 free months of Musicians Institute online courses. (More Info [espguitars.com])

Features:
  • Inspired by ESP's 1987 Eclipse T-style guitar
  • Archtop mahogany body with comfort belly cut
  • 3-piece maple neck-through construction enhances stability and sustain
  • Push-pull Seymour Duncan '59/JB humbuckers supply a dizzying array of tonal options
  • Modern 13.8"-radius Macassar ebony fingerboard plays great for chords and leads
  • TonePros locking Tune-o-matic bridge/tailpiece streamlines setup and maximizes resonance

Really good looking guitar. I've never played an ESP before, would you say they are similar to Schecters?

Pretty similar yeah. In this particular range it's a lot of the same for both ESP and Schecter -- ebony fretboards, locking tuners, higher-end Duncan or Fishman pickups, push-pull coil split, etc. ESP uses molded nut and Schecter uses Tusq XL's but not a huge difference there. The neck profiles are slightly different as well, ESPs feature a thin U profile vs Schecter's thin C profile, but honestly I couldn't tell you the difference in feel. I personally like ESPs more, but Schecter will usually offer a bit better value at the same price.

ESP and Schecter are also both owned by Hisatake Shibuya and are made in the lot of the same factories (World Music Instruments Korea and Cor-tek Indonesia) so I believe they share a handful of the same parts together. Nonetheless very high quality for import models.
