Word of caution. My company deployed about 15 of these and they all had weird docking issues. We ended up having to replace them early.

They just released a BIOS update that really messed up my Gen 1 Nano and I returned it. FYI- These are still pretty buggy. Even with the pin restart the power button flashes and the computer will not shut down. In addition, I was forced to do the bios update since the battery was not charging with the recent Windows updates. It's a good deal although just be aware that these are going through some software hurdles.

Are you from the future?!?
Yes! This is future you! Don't buy the X1 Carbon!

In this age and era a 15.6" is called a Dino size desktop.
Admittedly my use case isn't everyone's but I work from a few different offices during the week with external monitors and have a 16" ideapad 1600p that I tote around and it's great for desktop space. But the full-size laptop is a bit heavy and big for real travel. Would consider this or similar for plane travel.

Guess you don't know ThinkPads are the highest quality of builds of just about any laptops. And they sell for usually 50% to 200% more than other laptops. Other brands have their top tier but again even most of those don't compare to ThinkPads.
This was true about the build quality 15 years ago. I guess they're still coasting on that reputation. Last several thinkpads I've owned have felt no different in build quality than a similarly spec'd Dell latitude. Wouldn't surprise me if they were the same laptop with different badges and bezels.

Used to be able to whack someone over the head with a thinkpad. Now if you do that, it will crack in 7 places. They're not bad by any means, but the old beastly thinkpads are long gone.

I'm so sick of hearing the "they don't build them like they used to" bit. Yeah, no ****. I had the 14-inch T60 from that era. It was indeed very solid - and weighed almost 6 lbs. Its modern successor, the T14, weighs about half that. This X1 Nano weighs a third that. Do you really want the ability to whack people over the head for 2x-3x the weight? I don't. Take reasonable care of your laptops, and ThinkPads will last just fine.

BTW Latitude laptops are generally also pretty well-built. The real difference is vs something like the Inspirons or the cheaper IdeaPads. With the deals Lenovo runs, you can generally get ThinkPads way cheaper than comparable Latitudes, which Dell prices super high for consumers. (Used is a different story - Latitudes are much cheaper, which tells you something.)

For another 100 dollars, I'd rather have the Zenbook 14X.

Hopefully the deal comes back.
The 14x is a little bit of a bigger class of computer. I think if you can deal with the keyboard and the lack of a trackpoint on the Asus computers they represent great values especially if you can find one on eBay that comes with the Allstate 2 year warranty

Totally agree, you know I am coming from the era in mid 2000s my company used to give us IBM laptops right that time when Lenovo took over, we used to have jokes in the office, we don't need to go to the gym because we carry that brick house 6-7 pounds laptop all day long it was really painful.
Then the office started changing to lighter laptops as and when available, of course they replaced lots of things to make it lighter and as the time goes by the laptops keep getting thinner and lighter and to achieve that they have to make lots of changes.
I used an Apple MacBook from that era too and people forget though it was a solid build how much it used to weigh.
Now I am using both Thinkpad and MacBook both are very comparable in build quality. Apple products are always overrated by Apple fanboys.

i love mine. Got it from the last deal several months back when it was in the 700s. Super light, I use mine for grad school. I already have to carry a heavy laptop for work (and for security reasons don't want to use it for school), so I barely notice adding this laptop into my backpack .Charges quick with a generic USB-C PD 65W charger, and I even used it for a Blender lesson the other day and it didn't struggle until I went a little crazy with the multi-views.

Those retail prices are for entertainment purposes only.

Solid laptop specs for the price. Having only 2 ports is a bit of a bummer, but manageable given the portability.

I've had two Lenovo laptops and both have had a weird touchpad delay issue. Can't figure out the cause, it's a slight lag but it's so frustrating and nothing I've tried fixes it.

Doesn't happen on any Dell that I've had. Unfortunately that alone is a deal breaker for me with Lenovo now.
