Nice find! These are OEM for Honda/Acura.

edit: Even thought the product page shows in stock for shipping, they show unavailable in checkout.
I usually get the rotor + pad sets from rock auto. Even the premium ones are pretty cheap ~$100.
OEM engineering also states up to 10,000 miles between oil changes for ideal driving conditions and lifetime transmission fluid. The same OEM engineering is also pressured by executives in MARKETING to sell their products as low maintenance and cost effective. Just saying ...you decide.

oos for my 14 ody touring. i too like rockauto. fast service and IME never had a mistake. BUT they arent always the cheapest after the shipping charge. for example i ended up getting some raybestos from amazon this summer because they were cheaper and sold and shipped directly from amazon and not marketplace

OK, so rely on other guy's excellent useful information and don't worry what I say, right?
Yes, pretty much, when you come across the way you did as a self designated expert, nobody will really listen to what you have to say. Maybe be more helpful than chastising with replies eh?

In order to understand what's helpful, you actually need to be aware of what people are talking about. As I've said, please feel free to rely on the other guys' excellent and super-helpful advise. That, instead of actually learning something. Yep.

So you believe Scotty knows more than the oem engineers that have done testing to prove it is OK and has been proven right with more than 50 years of actual experience by mechanics all over the world?
Ford, Stallantis, GM, Nissan, and MB have thousands of engineers working for them and they still manage to produce very unreliable products. It's not the engineers who don't know what they're doing, it's the management teams that make conscientious decisions to cheapen their products. Scotty just reports on his own experiences and those of his customers.

What's the concern about the age? It's not like a battery...

Didn't find any info on the age of pads, just don't want them to be older than the car.

I bought these bases on Scotty youtube channel and can't really tell the difference compared to your standard Autozone, Oreilly, etc brake pads. Brake pads are brake pads, not much differnce IMO. Just change them regularly and you will be fine. No need to pay premium prices.

Hmm, it's odd, given this car I'm buying pads for I've owned since new in early '95. I think I'm pretty well versed how this uses pads, and certainly not at a 2:1 ratio, that's the case I've found with a disk/drum setup but disks all around with better brake bias makes em wear more evenly. Having near 30 years experience with the same car I think amounts to having learned something...

I didn't catch your previous convo.. Is this referencing front and rear brake bias? Usually it's a 60/40 or 70/30 split. Front takes most of the braking. Mostly due to the fact that is where the weight and momentum get pushed for 99 percent of brake use.

Now what rotors you recommend with these softer ceramic pads?

I have the Hawk Performance Street pads and they are more metallic and mire friction so I used Cryo Frozen rotors.
softer ceramic pads??
