Its cooled with a giant 2D vapor chamber (as opposed to heatpipes like most laptops) and two unobstructed fans. Asus did not cut any corners here, and it puts other premium 13" laptops to shame.

But using the 3050 on battery (outside of short bursts for compute) is not very practical.
Get your facts straight before you come to downplay a deal.
This has never been below the $1000 mark for new.
The one you're talking about is the other model without the dGPU or the open-box.
Wow, a 12900h and 3050ti in a tiny 2.6lb laptop. How is that even possible. Crazy specs for such a small laptop.

Me personally i thought the ryzen deal for 800 was much better as it had much better battery life. Unless you really need a detachable screen
Which ryzen deal do you refer to?

Its such a tragedy this never shipped w/ an AMD CPU. Maight have even been able to get another hour of battery from it. Esp when ther charging brick for it is bigger and heavier than the device itself.

The Ryzen cpu on the ASUS Rog X13 laptop has been on clearance for as low as $832. It is sold out now apparently (see link below). That is not the Z13 tablet computer being discussed here but is the laptop version. Looks like the same specs other than the CPU.

I have the 2023 with the 4050 and play Baldur's Gate on ultra settings on a 3440x1440 monitor at 60ish fps.

What length do you need? I have a 6ft Cable Matters thunderbolt 4 cable thats connected to my Razer Core X Chroma and it works great.

Cable Matters [Intel Certified] 40Gbps Active Thunderbolt 4 Cable 6.6 ft with 100W Charging and 8K Video - Fully Compatible with USB C/USB-C, USB 4 / USB4, and Thunderbolt 3 https://a.co/d/eyAWWLS
I believe the one that comes with the Razer Core X is 3ft long.
The other 2 I tried that didn't work were 4ft and 6ft.
I tried both TB3 and TB4 cables, though I am not sure if there is actually a spec difference in those.

So you guys have run this thing with eGPU that had 3090 in it? How did it perform. Does the z13 heat up or throttle much? How did the eGPU do? Like how much performance given up?
The TB3 eGPU will take maybe a 20~30%ish hit in GPU performance I think. Depends on what you're doing with it.

With current games, that's around what I've found.

Im wondering the same. So far I've gathered that it's much more powerful than surface pro but has much worse battery life and is ~30% thicker

There are a couple of different configurations of the Z13 Flow. Does your have the i9 CPU, 16GB RAM and RTX 3050 in it too?

I just bought one and so far am impressed. It's basically like a Surface Pro with a more gaming oriented screen and screaming performance. There's two things I love about this form factor for gaming: one, the part that produces heat is basically the top of the screen, the keyboard / trackpad stays cool. Secondly, detaching the keyboard makes for a very portable gaming screen when you're playing a controller based game, especially on an airplane.

I already had a Lenovo Ryzen + 3050 based laptop so I'm used to the level of performance offered, but this one seems to really manage cooling well, the fans are not very loud at all while gaming.

As others have mentioned, the new 2023 model with a 4070 and 13th gen i9 will offer much more performance when gaming on battery and undersized adapters. However, that model is basically always out of stock and retails for $2300. Like yes a laptop that costs 2x more performs better. But at $999 new this is absolutely a killer deal.
