Revisit it! Same thing happened to me - at some point I couldn't find where to go. I dropped the game for 2 months, opened it again to show a friend (because I love the sword animations) and I found a corner I had not explored - often a lit up door.

The game gets better with time.

The 2nd was a big change from the first, so I played another game and then came back to it later. Another good decision. 2nd game was great to finish.

Just picked up the 3rd, haven't played yet but for $6 (bundle price when you own the first and second) it was a no brainer.
