I'd be super wary of paying this much for a Hisense. I picked up the 75" U6G when it dropped to $500 last year, and it's fine, but the panel quality clearly doesn't compete with comparable models from reputable brands and I'm already seeing a hint of dirty screen effect. It's great value for your dollar for <$1,000 if you want a cheap, large, high-resolution TV but Hisense TVs are like what MSI is to gaming computers or Mustangs are to sports cars. Cheap performance for budget buyers. If your TV budget is $2,000+, I wouldn't shop Hisense. Not when the same money can get you the 77" LG C3.

Only 1 non OLED TV has ever scored higher. The Sony x95L beats it by 0.1 point.
I returned the 75 U8k to buy the 85. Have a 65 C2 OLED and it's hard to tell much difference in contrast. The Hisense is way way brighter. Really pops in HDR

The 75" U8K has an ADS PRO panel with with great viewing angles. I think the 85" U8K has a VA panel but not 100% sure until it's confirmed. Just an FYI

You bought the clearance outdated 6 series in a year they made a 9 series and complaining about panel quality?? The G is now 2 generations old
6 series entry level
7 series mid range
8 series high end competitor
9 series flagship
Note the 9 series was removed this year as the the 6 7 and 8 all got massive mini LED upgrades.

Relax. My comment was a suggestion for those seeking out a $2,000+ TV to consider looking for quality and reliability over cheap specs on paper from a brand that hasn't historically been consistent with their product line and materials.

I bought a 65" Hisense from 2 years ago and it was excellent! It was much better than the older LG and Sony LED tvs I was using. In fact I could hardly see the difference between the Hisense and the LG OLED I bought the same year. If I had something that could drive 8k, I would probably buy this to replace one of my tvs but I don't see anything that can take advantage of 8k for at least another 2 years.
The U8K Is the model number series not 8k shhhhh
Read and check some news from the tech expos that happens this last year ,hisense did the number series with a very specific reason, and yes hisense and Tcl si already matched lg sales and now both going to kick out of the competition Samsung as well, globally talking

it is not as I own both TV's
The U8H was a better value. But the occasional banding and picture processing issues makes me want to watch the Samsung more
