The third photo shows it as an main entrance deadbolt, but you can always use these on interior doors with a dummy knob. We have one on a walk-in closet to keep the kids out...

Why can't it be re-keyed? On the HD website, Defiant support replied to a customer and said to take the keys in to HD for assistance.

What type of battery does it use?
What is the battery life?
How often do we have to change the battery?

Is there a window in the place where you are putting this on? If so, it really doesn't matter.

About as safe as the windows in your house. Thieves tend not to use the front door..

I have this lock. Had it for 2 years now. Been nothing but great, and unlocks as soon as you type in the code. (Others you need to press unlock button). And idk why that poster commented that it cant be rekeyed. It absolutely can because I've done it.
