Could be a good option if you need the extra length (and you have a Menards in your area}.

A bit of a pain in the butt to install, as it's heavy and very difficult to lift & align with predrilled holes on the wall unless you remove the top from the brackets.
On paper the idea of a folding desk like this seems handy, but in reality I'm failing to see a common case (not saying there isn't a case for this, just saying it wouldn't be common).
Yes , it folds down, but in order to fold it up, essentially the floor space below it and around it (in order to actually use table) would have to be clear. If it's not clear, that means there's something in front of it when it's folded against the wall, so you'll have to move whatever that is out of the way to use the table.
So outside of having a particular object always sitting in front the table that you have to always move out and move back in when you use this desk (and outside of just visual "cleanliness" of having a table flat against a wall).. does this actually save any usable space?
Btw has anyone used this type as an outfeed table for your table saw or workbench to extend the span on the fly?
If you are able to install the brackets to the wall while the shelf is attached, you will get a better result. I did not do that and had problems at the end.
Although my installation went easier by mounting the brackets to the wall by themselves first, the folding mechanism would bind after the shelf was bolted on. It would not fold down all the way. This is because the brackets were not mounted at the same precise width of the bolts in the shelf, even though I could not have measured any better.
This folding shelf makes a great project space/homework station in my living room for my child. When it's folded out of the way, it only sticks out 2" from the wall and is out of the way. The larger version with the 48" shelf sticks out over 4" and is anything but minimalistic.

I plan on attaching 2 1x4 pine boards to the brackets then installing. See how that goes and if it keeps the brackets from binding.
