The knife is garbage. Have owned it in the past and on 2 of the 3 I bought, the pin that is supposed to lock the blade when open, breaks with minimal use and is not easily replaced. This means that the blade moves backward toward the handle making it awkward and dangerous to use.
The headlamp is also super cheapy

What's up with all these combo tool deals? Are there possibly time-saver kits for certain criminal activities, like kidnapping or catalytic converter theft?

it looks like the knife I used daily for about 3 years. The locking mechanism got weaker towards the end of its life, but it still worked. I'm guessing quality went down hill after covid. I had mine from 2017-2020 doing warehouse work. So it was definitely used during its life

At least they have a lifetime warranty, as long as you can get someone who knows how to replace it. I kept one for years that was broken, I worked at Sears in the meantime, and when I went to Home Depot, grabbed the most similar knife, took it up to the counter and they said I'd have to call in for a replacement. Before leaving, I called in and he said they were wrong. So I handed my phone to the guy in the store and he reluctantly rang it up and I got a new one.

Not everything has a lifetime warranty, just check the back of the package. Some older Craftsman torque wrenches said lifetime warranty on the tool. The Evolv series required all the tools and a receipt to replace one socket, but if you get someone new, they might not know, so if you get told no, just keep trying, someone will probably screw up. People would try doing tool exchanges at the clothing registers.

Let me jump in here. I just had to replace a few switches on the house. The headlight is for when you turn off the power. Duh. It's might be dark and you are going to want a hands free. The blade if for cutting around the outside of the plate. This will prevent paint from peeling when you remove the plate. The pliers and strippers are what you use to do the actual work.

That being said I would highly recommend the top selling strippers that amazon sells. A good pair of wire strippers will make your life easier. Junk made wire strippers will make your life suck. Especially in the dark (ask me how I know) Also the flashlight is good in a pinch but do some homework on /r/flashlights and get as decent one. The cutter can be substituted for any sharp blade.

I don't know if it's the same one you had but the old locking mechanism (that I owned) was different that the ones I just got (from this deal) The area around the blade lock slide is reinforced, and the whole side rotates out of the way. This is significantly different than the old ones I have.. not sure if that is the same as the ones you have.
