I've tried to redeem this twice and both times the rewards didn't add to my account. The purchases were over $1 before tax. The cashier gave me a number to call, but I didn't want to bother. The promo is still showing in my account.
No, but you CAN use existing Walgreens cash in the same transaction, as long as the min. spend is still met.
Example: you purchase a $3 item and use $2 wag cash. You still spent the required $1 and still earn the rewards. I've done this many times.
Be careful with change though! In the same exact example, if the item was $2.99 and not $3, you could only use ONE dollar wag cash and still trigger the rewards. If you used $2, the qualified spend drops to 0.99 which doesn't fulfill the requirements.

Did you clip it? A lot of folks get the mystery reward email, and view it (and see that they got the spend $1 get $5 offer) but never actually log in, go to coupons, and CLIP the offer. This step is necessary prior to making the purchase.
Clicking the email link does NOT clip the coupon automatically, unlike CVS coupons.

Even legit promo may not work correctly. I usually check next day if ALL points are in and if not call. This week it's 12 WCash for $25 or 27 WCash for $60.

I'm using the app on my phone. I use it to pay and apply coupons. I had other offers in different transactions that I 'clipped'. This one specific offer isn't applying for some reason.

Never seen $10 WC for $1 spent, but $5 sounds great
Just had my online order picked up someone else in the store. Called and CSR was very to refund me the $20Wgc I used to redeemed my purchase.
