Hard to say, I think the price difference between the graphics cards itself is $300. I wouldn't pay extra for the Alienware name - Dell has issues. I think just being a refurb lowers the value $200 at least, so probably the Alienware better, but it all depends on what you can afford.

For your consideration, in a similar boat, this one for $1069.99, Condition: Open Box Excellent. 17.3" display (which may or may not be too big for your needs). It has the superior RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, which beat the 4060 by 7%. Might be a good middle ground between the 2, if you prefer the alienware name.

I'm sad a lot of 16" laptops are made without the dedicated number pad.

What are my options with number pad? The only models really catching my eye are Lenovo Legion series. I prefer dedicated touchpad buttons too but that seems even harder to find.

Are you guys able to apply the 10% coupon? I'm getting "Coupon is a valid code, but isn't applicable to any items in your cart."

My wife has been very happy with her Lenovo slim 7i 16". Dedicated numeric keypad, touchscreen. Got a crazy refurb deal. Do an eBay search for 82VB0000US.

i am open to 16, 17 or even 18 inch an friend of me got an Acer refurb and it looked like new warranty extension to 3 years is $99

i use it to work and game so i like the I7-13700HX cpu, due i have an 2 external screen setup with like 10-15 open tabs while working.

it would be awesome to find an refurn with an RTX 4080 for around 1400-1500. The HP omen is on ebay for $1749

Keep in mind legion doesn't have thunderbolt port. If that matters.

Legion has 4060(8gb) where as it has 4070(12gb), which is better.

I just parked my m17 r2 for the refurb Predator. Certainly time will tell however the Dell drove me insane with it's conflict issues.

Can you please elaborate on "conflict issues with Dell". I am interested in buying this PC from Dell. Thanks

This one may not be the same, even has some improved components. However, long boot times, Dell hardware monitoring software conflicts with drivers at different times, print driver failures multiple times, momentary monitor freezing across multiple monitors, memory hog just using office software (even after increasing memory to 32g max capability), numerous smaller conflicts all corrected as they came up that seemed to be every few weeks. Multiple maintenance routines seemed to help for short term. I turned off windows updates. That made the most improvement. I upgraded the Predator to 64g ram and added additional SSD. Boot is fast, program load times much faster. Ran a full diagnostic and found one driver outdated, runs every program I have thrown at it exactly as I expected of the Dell, faster. Take into consideration I have more than 50 different programs I use. I have not tested the r5, Dell was always helpful, at least during the warranty period. They never actually figured out what was the main issue however I did. I disabled the factory monitoring software and the speed improved dramatically. Had a 20 minute boot wait again a few weeks ago after updating windows. I cannot properly state my frustration. It is now just data storage at the moment. My son also had one for about a year he used only for gaming without any issues, just wanted faster.
