I don't know if this is against the rules but you can hear my song Here's to Waking using this guitar with the Sustainiac doing it's thing around 1:15 to 1:30

This is likely the lowest I've seen a Schecter Sustainiac model go on sale for. Their most affordable FR-S is the Sun Valley Super Shredder and that goes for $899.

You can price match this on Musician's Friend for 8% back in rewards as well.
I have this guitar, and I think I paid around this price years ago, pre-covid. The guitar is stellar. Excellent craftsmanship on the guitar. The sustainiac is an amazing tool. As most guitarist, I started by overusing it. But fairly quickly learned that it has a place. Now it's off most of the time, but I kick it in when I want it. The 3 modes of the sustainiac are also great. Take time and learn each. It will add so much to your overall playing.

The feel of the neck is absolutely amazing. The neck through has a nice heal, making easy access to the higher frets. I use this guitar every time that I play Gary Moore tunes, like The Loner and Parisienne Walkways. Get those amazing sustain and feedback sounds, without the need for finding that spot on the stage, and marking it.

If I had one gripe, it would be that it needs 2 9V batteries. One for the neck sustainiac, and another for the EMG. Carry a few in your gig bag. It seems like they also drain slightly even when you're not playing. This pretty much sucks.

Overall, the quality of this guitar is a solid 9/10, if not higher. The -1 point would be for the 2 batteries.

Very good price for a sustainiac guitar and tempting. I will say my experience with Floyd Rose Special bridges isn't great. One of my guitars had one, and it corroded and discolored within a couple of years and felt kind of chinsey. It also didn't hold tune as good as the proper OG Floyd I've had in other guitars. It's still a good deal, even if you change the trem later.

I give up .. I can't succumb to this onslaught of deals anymore. Years of drought and now a deluge.

If I buy this guitar which I have been wanting to for a while as it is one of the few well executed sustaniac feedback loop without sounding like a loop then please go ahead and shoot me Wink

I'm a noob - used to play when I was younger on a crappy squire. I was really looking at a PRS SE Holcomb, other used PRS SE or perhaps a well-used PRS S2 Vela or regular PRS S2.

This is in that price range too, but any idea how it compares?

Is it the pickup or the guitar that's the selling point?
Just curious...

thanks...

and to answer your question above...the Sustainiac is an upgrade to an already pretty decently spec'd out guitar at $699 these days...if you like how it sounds or have a use case for it then it would be one selling point but you have other factors to consider like neck shape, fret size, do you want to deal with a Floyd Rose if you don't have the use case for it? ...do you like red?

I have the fixed bridge c1 version, which has emg active pickups (81-85) and also on sale for $550 for anyone not looking for a tremelo. Fantastic guitar out of the box, but I did lower the action and throw light top heavy bottom strings on it:

A little of both. Neck through, quilted maple top, EMG pickup, decent Floyd Rose. That is already going to be on that $600+ range. A sustainiac added afterwards would cost about $250 additional.

I bought a Jackson JS32 with a Floyd Rose for $199, and I bought a Sustainiac clone from Indonesia for $109. Granted it's a piece of shit compared to this one, but it plays very well, and I'm glad to not spend a lot on a Sustainer guitar that for me is a really fun guitar, but sort of gimmicky in my hands. I can squeal like a siren on the Floyd Rose forever though.

I have a Synyster Custom-S. The Sustainiac is gimmicky and I really haven't found much use for it other than noodling. Floyd is a cheaper Special on this one. I wouldn't say this is a great buy with resale not being great either. But EMG + Sustainiac is likely a big selling point for those in the market.

I have zero need for such a guitar as I've got a pretty large arsenal of EMG equipped guitars. But I have played those. The blue satin finish feels fantastic and it's a really solid price for a mid range guitar with EMG's.

Wow, that's much more tempting. Love those pickups for metal, sustainiac is definitely not my thing. What a beautifully well made guitar for that price. Thanks!
