Great price for a delta max 1600 with expanding capabilites. can handle 2000 watts and surge to 5000w. also has the ability to add two extra max batteries bringing this capability up to approx 5600 watts.

This is a refurb with a 2 yr ebay warranty.

And before the critics chime in, it is Li-on but great for emergency infrequent use as a home power backup source for major appliances.

So solar panels are generators, that makes sense. These battery inverters are not generators. They are powered inverters.
Better than the term solar generator.

Not really. The solar panel generates power on its own, you can hook that up to whatever you like directly and it will still produce said power.

What these power banks do is store said power, and convert it into the desired voltages.

Gasoline is a fuel for devices that produce power, you can pour it right onto your car, or mower, or generator directly but it's not going to run.
Uhh.. much like a gas engine, it ain't doing sht without fuel. Solar panels just use sun as fuel.

What kind of runtime do you get with a 1500w UPS running a fridge? I find it frustrating that UPS units almost never list actual capacity and are sold based on peak output. My 750vA/300w ups that runs my networking gear has a 9 minute life at half load, which is about 25wH. My 300w/300wH inverter battery would run that load for 1.5-2hrs easy.
It depends. Mine have quad 9ah 12v batteries, I'll get about an hr or two of continuous run, but it has been adequate to last though the night/day/until I am home and switch over to a generator. The modem/nas/etc get hooked up to a smaller unit, I'll get about 5 hours with the nas on, about 7 if the nas shuts down

Fridges need a higher upstart, but it takes about 300w to keep it moving.

Would this be a good backup for a sump pump? I can't tell if it would be overkill or underkill, I'm guessing under.

1,100 running watt's means probably 2-3x starting.

If it has 1,612 watt hours does that mean it would run the sump continuously for about an hour and a half?
You are better installing dedicated primary sump pump and 12V Battery Backup Sump Pump with Internet Monitoring & Alerts, Water Alarms for Basements. Something similar to THE BASEMENT WATCHDOG Combo Model CITE-33

The 20% off code is over. Keep watching. They bounce the prices around every few days. $559 is a normal price for this refurb unit.

If it starts, about an hour.

These shouldn't be left plugged in like a UPS, not great for the batteries and too bulky.

The two main uses are emergency backup power, and off grid use (camping).

The first use is the main reason I bought mine. Wildfires, high wind events, etc PG&E likes to turn off the power for undisclosed amounts of time. Obviously, I have a generator suitable to run the whole house, but it's not a good idea to run it constantly just to keep the fridge cold, especially when roads are shut down and gas supply is dwindling. Instead, my ecoflow can run my fridge and internet (only communication where i live) for 28hrs on one charge. Run the gen for 1.5hrs and I'm good for another day. I also have 250w worth of solar panels to keep it topped off for those major outages.

Even for shorter outages, I'll plug the TV and fridge into it so I don't have to lug out the generator for a short 6hr outage.

Also a plus for camping, running lights around the campsite or when we have older family members with us to run small appliances they just can't live without.

These aren't for everyone if you don't have a use case, but if you do have a use case, they are great. Mine has almost paid for itself in gas savings alone, plus the PG&E rebate I got on it too ($500 rebate.)
I like everything you said there, in the order in which you said the words involved!

Great investment in personal responsibility for inevitable power outages! I applaud the effort. From power outages to heavy snowfall to fires; people who prioritize self-reliance, create defensible fire perimeters, have on-board fire-suppression devices, basic food stores, power equipment etc are FAR less likely to be listed among the victims of natural disasters. No big pepper here; this is just basic sense.

Like not being under-insured, having snow removal equipment if you're in an area like that, having fire extinguishers in every room, keeping the smoke detector batteries replaced cyclically, having rolled fire escape ladders ready at upper bedrooms (and ideally a whole-house backup generator!)...these are the things that keep your family safe and your home safer than it would otherwise be. You folks in Ca had some serious fires the last few years; I still recall locally the 2000 MT fires. In certain areas, just about every home with trees close, piles of pine needles everywhere, flammable roof systems, sheds close by full of stored firewood etc; all burned up. The ones that DIDN'T burn didn't match that description; and power was out for a good while, since the poles and lines went too. Go figure! I saw who made it out of that well and who didn't, and it shaped my future preparedness decisions dramatically.

Edit: couple of years ago a fire in a 4 apartment building in downtown sleepy little Corvallis MT hit in the middle of the night; straight across the street from a renter who knew these people well. Lady jumped from the upper window, landed on a metal fence and broke her back; died at the hospital from her injuries. Trapped in the upper apartment by fire, having seen his lady break herself jumping; her husband hesitated long enough to replicate and try to make his jump further that he succumbed to the smoke and died upstairs.
That's off-topic for a power bank! But Slickdeals is full of periodic deals on rolled fire-escape ladders in the $25-$35 range. Would have saved two lives that night. Should the owner of that rental complex had those included and ready? Probably, but that's not the letter of the law here. Self-reliance efforts don't just make life easier in an emergency; they save lives.

Slickdeals is the place to find bargains on self-reliance stuff!
No shill, no agenda as a deal-hunter I've saved a lot over the years on a lot of stuff that makes sense to me for basic safety. Heck, even my backup Generac propane generator and transfer switch were purchased for about half price! I'm grateful, and spread the word as much as I can. 10-20 people over the years have started 'clicking through" to do our part.
I've been here a long while (2001 or so for lurking) and read a lot of talk about how much this site's culture has changed, how commercialized it's become; meh.
I click through every chance I get, and encourage my friends to do the same; especially since they added a cashback program! This site has saved me thousands plural; probably honestly tens over the decades.

End of unsolicited commercial! I date back to "urlhasbeenblocked" (haha; block a lesser site but leave the closest competition they've ever had intact? Algorithms are stupid sometimes), Fatwallet etc, and it makes sense to me that this site has become the last man standing....They get the business model, and our part is the click-through. That is the income stream, and businesses require cash flow! Go Figure lol.

I've "saved" a lot more than I really needed to, it can be a bit of a deal-shopper trap if one purchases every truly Slick Deal; but if a guy stays on-target, there are wonderful deals to be had, on truly important items. Like power backups!

If you don't have enough use of the 2000w, get a 1200w 618wh one for $200+ is more reasonable. I won't consider Lithum just for the risk to burn my house down alone. LiFePo4 is 99% safer.
Yes, link please. The Pecron 1200 watt with the GOGREEN code is $285 on the Pecron site; show me $200 and I'll grab another.
Please? Hook a guy up!

You can plug a solar panel into it and it has the charge controller inside.

I see these posted but I don't really get the use case. It's basically a UPS for your fridge and maybe a couple other things you could plug in? Doesn't seem all that useful.

edit - maybe good for camping?
Oh, your Fridge and a couple of other things, what everything in your house except things that
use 240v!!!
