Amazon reviews are saying this particular release is mislabeled and it does not include the fake trailers and advertisement that showed in theaters. It's the extended cut of each film, but without the bonus features. Apparently, there's another version that has it

You may have received a bootleg or illegitimate copy of some sort. I bought this a few months ago, and it was the correct version listed with a disc for the films and a second disc for the bonus features. If Amazon sends out the incorrect version, you should return it for a legitimate copy.

It's legit. Lionsgate has started printing these. If you look at the comments on Amazon and look at the thread on blu-ray.com it's the same for a lot of people. It's a manufacturing error with this batch.

Not sure on this release, but Grindhouse was meant as a full experience of 2 movies and 2 sets of trailers (at the beginning and during intermission) just like we used to enjoy QT Fest at the original Alamo Drafthouse on Colorado, before the Ritz.

The movie flopped in theaters since you can't make a 3 hour movie nowadays, much less 3.5 hours. They had their original cuts, then put them together shaving frames where they could to get it to ANY thing close to 3 hours. After their failed box office returns they released them individually for a while before the Grindhouse cut was released on Blu-ray.

I feel the editing is tighter in Grindhouse and shots last a bit too long on their individual releases. I've seen Grindhouse like 8 times in theaters (with different groups of friends) and the individual cuts once.

This might be up my alley as I already have the original Grid house and wanted the extended cuts. For $8 it's too much to pass up.

I can confirm that the Grindhouse Blu-ray I ordered from Amazon about 1 month ago is not the theatrical version, even though the Amazon description and back cover art both say it's the theatrical version. It's the extended edition of Planet Terror (disc 1 only) and extended edition of Death Proof.

The theatrical Blu-ray has the additional trailers intact and a lot more special features, which is what I wanted. I will return and try again. Maybe it's a mixed pile of old and new cases in the Amazon bin.

I received my order from Amazon yesterday. It is the extended versions with a single disc for each film, which is what I wanted at this point. I bought the theatrical double feature from Target a few months ago.
